My College Experience

My course i.e. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is a very new course and only a few colleges have added this to their curriculum, it is the most trending today, and hence I chose this as I got a good college. Faculties numbers are enough for the number of students in the course. Faculties are simple and helpful. I think all the faculties have a very good educational background like Phd, etc, and are very experienced in this profession too. They follow practical teaching methods. Exams are held every 2 months. ISE and ESE are the main exams in a semester.

Companies coming for internships are the same as for the placements and they offer Internship + Performance-based Placement Offer. Prominent companies in college are Nvidia, IBM, DBS, HSBC, Oracle, and Blackrock. The stipend provided by these companies is usually very high from 20000 to 30000 but the average overall stipend is 10000. You can get industry projects by talking to your faculties and if you perform well in projects then you can also get the opportunity to join that company.

You can sit for placements right from the 7th semester. At least 200 companies visit colleges for placements every year. The highest package this year is 21 lpa by Avalara. The average package can be 5lpa to 6lpa. Most companies offer roles like SDE or Associate Engineer. Almost 85% percentage of students get placements every year. I want to join a company after my degree.

The standard fee for general categories is nearly 165000 but it differs according to categories for reserved categories. Like I am from OBC so I have to pay 97515. Other sc, st candidates have to pay only 5000. Scholarships can be availed through the Mahadbt portal and college guides for that. I have not got the job yet and trying for it.

Campus life is actually good here as many fests and events are organized frequently. The annual fest is Gandharva fest arranged in January every year. There is only one library for the whole college and is present in the E building. It is always maintained and they strictly abide by library rules, but you can get any book you want. Good classrooms with more than enough benches are present and we have projectors for presentation in lectures. Sports are mostly indoor sports because the college ground is small. Sports competitions are arranged twice a year. Recently viit team won bronze in chess in an inter-college chess competition. There are many clubs like NSS VIIT, TEDX VIIT, EDC VIIT, etc.

The only way to get admission to this course in this college is through the counseling process by cet cell. You will get reservation benefits if you belong to reserved categories like obc, sc,st. I got a reservation, also there is a fee concession for us. The admission process carries some document verification work and then payment so it is simple however it can be done quickly.
