Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Information Technology as always I was interested in this sector and I didn't get CSE, so I found it the best after that. The student ratio here is almost 60 students per section in each branch. If we talk about the faculties in HIT, most of them are very skilled and have completed many seniority courses. And there's no such language problem if you think of it as in West Bengal. Teaching skills are also quite nice. You're gonna get very good marks in your CTs and Sems even if you follow the faculties guide only. Here Exams are of two types, one is Class Tests(CT), which are taken 2-3 times per semester, and then comes the final semester exam which comes at sem-end. As I already mentioned, just be attentive to the teachings and revise, that's pretty enough.
Placement Experience
Placement scenarios at HIT are amazing. That's why, its alumni records are quite appreciated. Students from 3rd year start doing internships as per their merits. And by the end of the course, almost 70-80% are placed somewhere. The average package here is close to 5-6 LPA and the highest mark goes to 25-30 and more too.
Fees and Financial Aid
Talking about the fee structure, HIT Haldia is one of the least-budget private colleges. The total fees here combining the Admission time expenses come near to 4.8 lacs in 4 years. Also, the Hostel is available at only 12k/sem which is quite less too. Scholarships are also available, specifically for West Bengal students, I don't know much. But one thing I know for sure, HIT is an eligible college for a Student Credit Card Scheme for Bihar Students to take loans up to 4 lacs at minimal interest through the Bihar Govt.
Campus Life
Campus Life at HIT is considered one of the best compared to other colleges in the state. The Whole Campus covers 37 acres of land which is comprised of hostels, canteens, stores, laundries, libraries, grounds, etc. There's a lot to explore. Fests are the things, HIT is known more for in the sector of College life. Rivera happens every year during the start of the year which is filled with lots of enjoyment for all the college students. There is a library on campus, which is also quite big and you could come here to study in peace and also borrow books for 15 days at a time. Rest Sports also is promoted much here, especially Football and Cricket Tournaments are very common here. It keeps happening 1-2 times every year. Other sports like badminton, volleyball, etc also have a lot of activity. All these sports have their own club for training and participation. Leaving sports, other clubs for Music, Coding, Dance, Etc are also available here.
Admission
The admission process here was usual. At first, you have to sit in the WBJEE exam. I gave it on 30th April 2023. But I was not expecting much from it as my paper was not so well gone. When the results came out, where I got 44 and something got me GMR 9115, I started exploring cutoffs and thought I didn't get anything. But then one of my related elder brothers asked if I got Haldia in that rank, I searched for it and that I'd not get CSE but would get IT easily. So after listening to some positive views on this college, I decided to counsel for it. Then came the counseling date and I did all those processes and got admitted to HIT, Haldia in the first round of counseling as I knew I was not getting CSE anyway and there wasn't any better option for me who was searching for a low-budget college.
