A journey worth sharing

The college needs to work more on managing during group clashes and bring back the cultural fest to college. faculties are good,

I took the WBJEE and ranked 7500(around) in the exam. I heard of heritage earlier to be a very good college and the placements are very good, which made me not to think of any other options.

yeah speaking of that after receiving the autonomy status of Heritage Institue of Technology, The college went through a great change when taking of The curriculum... We had many new subjects introduced and a lot of re-shuffle is done to the syllabus. I mean hardly we used to get a similarity with MAKEOUT. then again we had to do many projects during the course I remember I had to do 3 web development projects and 2 major projects.

No, the college does not provide Internship. The students have to find them themselves. but its a compulsory to do a training at the end of 6th sem.

The placements are well provided you just want a job (not stream specific). TCS takes away 50% of the students, and the rest are taken by small companies almost all of them are IT based and marketing based. 70% of the student gets placed at the end. Core companies do come to the campus but select a few students.

now this is the worst part of the college I saw fest for lik two time in this four year, befor (when we were in 1st year) we had everything cultural fest where we saw many celebrities, technical fest for 3 long days... life was good then but by the time we were in 2nd year there were clash between the groups and the college not being able to handle this stopped all such event and all the fun were gone.

The fee structure(tuition fees) for our batch 2014-18 is around 3.5 lacs. excluding the exam fees. but now they have raised the fees to a lot extent. I have not availed for any loan but I have heard that getting loan is possible and again the college provide scholarships to the TFW seat student

Campus life is good, one thing about heritage is if you wat to study here you have n number of opportunities, again if you want to roam around again you are free to do so, nobody will stop you. You can again maintain a healthy balance in your study and extra curricular studies.

I dont know much about the alumni network, but many students of this college are well settled in abroad and are working there happily.

A typical day in the campus is not a too hectic one. You have labs of 3 hours per week for each lab paper. The IT infrastructure in HITk is very very good. But 1 month before the semester the real hardship begins, you got to have viva lab exams in the 1 month span before the sem.

After the rank was published by WBJEE, they opened a portal for online counseling, I went through the process. I was asked to select college of my choice and add them to my profile of counseling for which college I want to join and the stream and then the process started I was selected on the basis of my rank from my list. Then if I wanted an upgradation I had to inform them and if I wanted to finalize the given college I could stop the counseling there.I got Heritage in my second upgradation.

In our department all the faculties had M.Tech and some of them have Ph.D. s, many of them have degrees from IIT, JU and from countries like the USA. when it comes to interest all of them are good but I felt that it could have been better. some of them are really good and could pass on the knowledge to students.
