Review of Techno Main Salt Lake

The course curriculum is a bit outdated and needs to be updated as our college is under Makaut, their curriculum is strictly followed here. The faculty-student ratio in our college would be somewhere around 1: 8. All the faculty members are doctorates and have good knowledge of their respective subjects and are quite helpful and friendly. The teaching method is quite simple and easy to learn, they teach every topic properly. Term exams are done on a regular basis. There are 4 CA exams before final semester exams. Teachers give good marks to almost everyone, you just need to be a bit regular in the class.

Internships are offered by good companies like amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, etc. with monthly stipends of up to 30k. Some of them are unpaid also. Most of the students find internships on their own and college provides to some of them. You need to have a good project and should be knowledgeable in your domain. I don't have much experience about internships as I am still in my 2nd year and have not got any internships yet.

Placements are quite good. Students start getting placements from 6th sem. In order to be eligible for the placements, the students should not have any active backlogs and should have at least 6-7 cgpa. TCS, cognizant, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, and HCL are the companies that visit mostly. Sometimes students get jobs at amazon, and Microsoft but most of them are off campus. The highest salary in our department is around 26 lpa which is off-campus The average is around 5 LPA. Almost 95% of students get placed every year. My plans are to get a good placement in a mnc after completing my degree.

The fee structure for Btech is currently 6.25 lakhs in total. In the 2022 admission batch, the fees was 5.5 lakhs total. So there is a nearly 13% hike in fees this year. There are various scholarship schemes for the students and college almost approves all of them. Most of the students get svmcm scholarship from the WB govt. TFW scheme is also here and students who joined with TFW rank require no need to pay the tuition fees. Placement is quite good. Most of the students get placed. The average salary is somewhere around 5 lpa.

Life on campus is very good here. There are too many clubs and students would get every opportunity to participate in different extracurricular activities. The annual fest name is Anakhronos which is conducted in January. Tech Fest is Edge. Books are not quite freely available, you need to have a good relationship with the librarian in order to get hasslefree books. But yes semester books are provided for each semester. Classrooms and labs are well-equipped and have charging ports, fans, and ACs. There is a sports club named Tecnotkarsh and almost every type of sport is played. But the grounds on campus are not quite big. There is also a charity club named Samaritans. IIC TMSL is a website and club run by students.

The admission was from WBJEE counseling. To be eligible for the course, the student needs to pass 12th from a science background with a minimum of 60 percent and must secure a valid wbjee rank. The application form will be available on the wbjee portal. The exam fee is 500 rupees. This year the exam will be held on 30th April, 2024. The admission process is quite easy and simple. We need to secure a good rank in the Wbjee exam and then apply for the Wbjee counseling. 3 rounds of counseling will be held and students must come and verify documents in the college and pay the admission fee in order to take admission. Also, there is a 10% seat for management quota for the students who have not performed well in the Wbjee exam and could not get a seat through Wbjee counseling.
