I chose this course because of the interest of my parents. But now I feel that this was the best choice which I have taken for my future career. There are many supportive faculties to help us with our studies and other activities. All the faculties have a very good bond between us. They have good knowledge and higher degrees and they are very capable of teaching.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't attend any Entrance exams. So I have joined the college with NRI admission. I don't get any scholarships because of NRI admission. There is no fee concession for me so I have to pay 100000 Rs for fees.

Campus Life

When I joined the college there was no tech fest or any programs in our college because of the Corona season. At that time college life was boring. But when I became 2nd year student, there were many programs conducted. Programs including Onam, and Christmas celebrations are conducted. College promoted many extracurricular activities. Our college has a main library for promoting reading and knowledge for us.

Hostel Facilities

Our college provides a hostel facility which is very neat and clean compared to other hostels. We have many spaces and have a big bond between the students. The main thing to tell about the hostel is the food. We get chicken or biriyani twice a week. Vegetarian foods are also available for the vegetarian students. Our warden has very friendly behavior and will help with our needs.

Hostel Fee: INR 42000 per year

Admission

I don't write any Entrance exams. I registered for the exam but I couldn't attend the exam because at that time I felt illness. But I prepared very well for the exam. So I joined the college without any Entrance qualifications. Because of the interest of my parents, I joined this college to study civil engineering.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA
