Remarks

The college is not a well rounded college but it offers some potential academic as well as technological aspects. The college stands in top 50 colleges for innovation and research and hence all the students who are willing to dedicate their time only focusing on academics are most welcome here.

Entrance Preview

I appeared of State Level CET Examinations which was a pre requisite for getting admission in any college in mumbai.I secured a modest 142 which was probably a little less to get admission in any top institutions for computer engineering.Saboo Siddik college is known for its heritage and academics which led me in securing admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum of Mumbai university is completely outdated that one cannot proceed further without getting any extra knowledge all by himself. Also focus is completely on academics and not on the overall development of an individual. In order to get the best of your college one must study all by himself and focus on their overall development.

Internships Opportunities

Probably the standard of internship is not good, as most of the students are deprived of information about internships.only a handful of them get internships that too with low or no stipend. My recommendation would be to get an internship from outside rather than waiting for college to provide you with one.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is on norms with the state board but it benefits only a specific minority as well as cast affiliated students. The fee structure for foreign student is really expensive ie.about 3X the fees of normal student.General students pay about 1,13,000 as standard fees with the minority students getting 25000 back as scholarships

Fees and Financial Aid

All scholarship are awarded to people with minorities at with caste, general category student do not expect any goodwill from college as they do not provide any.

Campus Life

1

The college solely focuses on academics and hence they do not promote any entertainment in college premises,a majority of student belong the Muslim caste about 70% of them. Also the ratio of boys to girls is very high in numbers for e.g. about 10 girls in 65 boys as such.it is always good to join you related stream community which organises event for the students. There are few interclass competitions on academics, sports as well as technology related seminars and workshops. One may find few opportunities to become an active participant in your community and have an overall development of ones self.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is quite strong as many of the alumni are at top positions of their respective fields. Also seniors are quite friendly and provide you with optimistic guidelines to proceed forward. The alumni motivates us as well as encourage us to take risk start learning new things push your self to further heights.

Admission

The admission process was completely organised by the State Education board itself. All the details are available on the state website which gives you a proper idea how to go through this process.also make sure to keep a track on college websites to get information about in-house quota and management seats available at that particular College.

Faculty

2

One of the best part about saboo Siddik college is their faculty. most of the faculty’s are Phd or are pursuing it,hence the level of understanding is decent among them.also to note the fact that many faculty members are particularly not interested in teaching as they only want to complete their curriculum and move ahead. The college has a mix of multiple faculties in which some are excellent whereas some are average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
