Entrance Preview
I wrote KEAM entrance, which is Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination and got inside 16,000 rank in Kerala. I opted the B.Tech Civil Engineering course because I had early interest in construction field and I joined this college as it was the only one government aided college available for this course where I could join as a day scholar.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is pretty easy and there are quality faculties who provide lectures 6 hours a day (9:30 AM-12:30 PM & 1:30 PM-4:30 PM). There are 6 branches of engineering for B. Tech and M. Tech Studies, also there is separate batches for MCA. Every department have seperate buildings and laboratories.
Internships Opportunities
There is no specialized internships or trainings as it is engineering but, students are given lot of practical experience through different programs and tech-fests as Civil engineering students we are given high involvement in all the construction activities in the campus.
Placement Experience
Many companies come to campus, especially from software and IT sector every year and pick deserving students last year, up to 100 students were placed with salaries above 40,000 a month more number of students are already placed this year dompanies which approach include IBM, Wipro, Infosys, Tata etc.
College Events
Tech-fests are organised every year separately by 6 department with each lasting 2-3 days with technical, cultural activities and programs exhibitions and experiments are also done along with these cultural festivals like Onam, Christmas, Holi etc. are celebrated very grandly adding memories in college life.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is of 3 types for government admitted students, ?35000/year, for management admitted students ?65000/year, for NRI students ?1 lakh/year first two are affordable considering the facilities.
Fees and Financial Aid
Many government scholarships are available for minority students and every thing is cheap for SC/ST students on behalf of college loan schemes are provided through central bank of India which has a branch inside the campus.
Campus Life
Campus life is just awesome you can enjoy every moment here students mingle each other very well lots of sports and extracurricular activities many clubs related to non-academic activities gender ratio seems almost equal there is equality and friendly approach between students but, students tend to make some conflicts and strikes related to the political parties and their student associations. But, students here generally enjoy the politics in campus.
Hostel Facilities
I am not a hostel student still hostel is clean and good 4 student rooms are available the mess food don't have a good opinion among the students.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni association conduct meets and get togethers usually they also arrange counseling classes to students there is also study materials store managed by alumni association inside the campus.
Exam Structure
Examination take place at the end of every 6 month semester for 8 papers other examinations include internal examination done twice a semester.
