Remarks

College management is tends to be helpful and take decisions which turn helpful for students. College had done oveall progress in couple of years and raised standards and quality of education by making changes in oveall academics.

Entrance Preview

I had given MH-CET for admission to college conducted by state government of Maharashtra. I scored 142 marks in it out of 200 which was relevant score. Reson for choosing particular college : 1. Autonomus Institute since 2008 affiliated to pune University. 2.Unique academics and Course structure which is set according to industry standards. 3.Placement opportunities 4.Exta-curricular.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum is very good and Department try to include new things in syllabus. For First year there are 2 elective subjects. One is PD(personality development) course and other is GP(general proficiency) course. In GP student have to choose one course and options are Guitar, Drawing and painting, Photography,Vocals, Harmonium,Tabala, Nutrition,Tayakwando,Yoga etc. Also in first year there is one foregin language subject you've to choose from German, French , Japanese, Sanskrit etc. Overall the first year is called DESH(Department of Science and Humanities). In second year there are subjects related to core branches hence only 1/2 elective subjects which are SD (Skill Development Courses). In third year for each semester student have 4 elective subjects (elex/entc dept) . In final year, one semester internship is compulsory for all students and one major project. Overall the course structure is quite good and teaching learning process is project based. So it helps students in there overall growth.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. Many companies come to college conduct interviews and provides internship to students. As these internship are available for T.Y. and B.Tech. students and provides stipend form 5k per month to 40k per month. Recently NVIDIA gave internship to 5 students and 35k stipend for each. Also companies like T&C,Tata,TCS come to college.

Placement Experience

4

About 70 to 80% students are placed on an average each year. Rest students are willing to do higher education. The Training and placement office take care of overall development of students so he/she can develop problem solving skills which can help during campus placement. IT companies like Microsoft,TCS,Wipro,IBM, Infosys,Dell are major recruters. This year Microsoft had given highest package of 36lakh p.a. to 3 students. While average package offered is 3-7 lakhs per year. The placement of Computer and IT department is 100% as many mass recruitment companies visit during campus placement. As IT parks are increasing in pune the placement are going good for IT related branches. For core branch students(mech., industrial, production,Elex)it is little difficult as number of core recruiters are less.

College Events

4.5

The Events celebrated in college are as follows: 1.Vishwakarandak: It is inter-departmental sports-cultural-technical events of 3 to 4 days.About 2000-3000 students participate in them 2.Melange : It is a National level sports-cultural-technical fest of VIT. Verious college students across country participate in this event. This event is of about 4-5 days full of joy and about 2500 students throughout country visit college each day. The college looks like a fair! 3.Vishwotsav : It is annual gathering and price distribution ceremony of college. The various days (tie/saree/mismatch/traditional) are celebrated during vishwotsav. 4.TEDxVITPune It is one day event and about 300-400 students across pune participate in ted talks. This event is known for its execution and well planning. 5.VITPune MUN (model united nations) It is 3day event and about 300 deligates across pune participate in it. 6.Alumini meet College faculties conduct a grand alumni meet each year in December and about 500 aluminus of vit across world visit and discuss vision and mission of institute. 7.Blood donation Campaign: It is social event conducted by VIT SOCIALS (Social clube of vitpune). It is two day event and this campaign is done twice a year and 300-350 doners donate their blood for social cause. 8.Aatmabodh: It is a computer literacy program for elder people of society near college. Students teach about 150 people how to use computer. 10.Internship mela: This event is conducted by Vedc and of 2days were many start-ups and companies come to college and offer internship to students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible as fees are equal to any other technical institute in pune. For open category students it is ?.1,30,000 For obc it is ?.65,000 to?.70,000 For NT/ST it is ?.13000 to 15,000 For SC it is ?.4000 to 5000 This fee consists of academic tution fee and exam fee of one year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. There are verious scholarship available for economically backward students, toppers and minority students. Also loan facility is available for students to complete their education. There is separate scholarship committee for students.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life at VIT is good and very cool. Although campus is small but provides all the facilities to students.Students hardly face any difficulty in finding anything. Various workshop are being conducted by various clubs of college and large number of students participate in those workshops. Gender ratio is good compared to other collages. Whereas raging is strictly prohibited and no case of raging is found within years. The relation between junior and senior is friendly. The crowd at vit is diverse but all treated asf equal and healthy environment.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facility is provided only for first-year students while the seats are very limited and on first come first serve basis. Whereas many private hostels are available in a nearby area. College hostels are good and provide all the basic facilities and enough space to an individual. One room is shared by 2-3 people. The hostel fees 80,000 per person per year including hostel rent, one-time mess, wifi charges.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not strong up to extent. but college is working on it by conducting alumni meet each year and building strong relations between college and alumni. There is healthy environment between senior and juniors. Senior are always helpful and always help in solving problems, Guide in projects.

Exam Structure

For exams each subject is divided as department level or institute level. For department level, (25+25+50) pattern ie. 25marks midsem(50 marks exam converted into 25) 25marks endsem(same as midsem) and 50marks (project+internal) For institute level (35+35+30) pattern ie. Midsem and endsem exam of 100 marks converted into 35 While practicals and assignments are of 30 marks. As we look the the exam pattern is very cool and students need not to be stressed. About labs: Lab sessions are interactive and lab exams are conducted at the end of semester which are easy.

Admission

I got admission in this College through CAP(Centralised Admission Process) conducted by Govt. Of Maharashtra. It consists of 3 to 5 rounds. For each round there is cutoff score. In 1st CAP round I got VIT Instrumentation but I preferred to for 2nd round. In second round I got VIT E&Tc so I freezed my admission. About college: After cap round you just have to submit your documents to Admission office at VIT and pay the Fees.

Faculty

4.5

All faculties are highly qualified with specialisation in respective subject and also Most of the faculty have done doctorate and having about 10-20 years of experience in teaching. They are good at solving students problems and encourage them for research. Their Behaviour is very friendly, they provide proper guidance for projects and are always available outside classroom.
