Likes

Campus is good, the infrastructure and the greenish environment
The students are so friendly and good behaviour

Dislikes

Food in that area, hostel is soo poor, very unhygienic
Always giving less internal marks to students
Behaviour of some faculties are poor, Cornering some specific students and mentally harassing them

I choose it because of the placements and job scope nowadays, Faculties are quite okay and some of them are too good, faculties are MTech graduates from good universities, Teaching method of them is okay okay, not too good and not too bad, Exams are quite simple

Amazon, South Indian bank, Infosys, wipro, ibm, are the major companies giving internship opportunities The projects and interviews are the thing to get placed, 20-25% of students get placed through college placements

Placements will come in 6th semester onwards, a lot of companies came here, mainly Infosys, amazon, South Indian bank, byjus etc The highest package is 10LPA and average is 3-4LPA 20-25% students get placed through campus placements After degree I'll go for an MBA

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution Fee is 129000 rupees per year, hostel and mess fee seperate, ive not got any scholarship or financial assistance or anything from the college or the university, I'm an OBC student still not availed any benefits

Campus Life

College life is good, My college only conducted a arts festival named vipanchika when I was in 2nd year, our tech feat got cancelled due to some issues, The library is perfect ill give a 5/5 rating, Classrooms is poor, very conjusted, sports activities are good, There is no clubs or something that running by students in our college

Hostel Facilities

Toilet, bulb, and 2 fan that's the only facility, The food is very very poor, no taste and hygiene at all, lot of complains are coming daily, hostel is 28000? per year ig, I'm not in a pg I'm in college hostel itself

Admission

I took management seat by using nee qualification, Directly went to collage and took admission, No reservation benefits availed, I'm OBC but still no reservation benefits, Admission need to be little more smooth in my opinion

OUR COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

If you want to be in a controlled environment, focus on academics, make use of some good placement opportunities, and get somewhere career-wise I would be suggesting Amrita University.

The other colleges i applied was all govt colleges.i couldn't got the rank to get there because i got less rank in keam exams.so i choose the best college i could get on my marks. I got 25526 rank in keam examination such that i cracked in here and also i wanted to be here because my super seniors where here they also insisted me that scms school of engineering is a good college.our college is a managemental college accredited by govt either we should crack keam exam or we should jee exam or we be nri quota. These are the 3 methods that we can get to scms school of engineering. SSET- from the viewpoint of a student

I applied to government colleges and MITS ,RIST and FISAT too among with SSET. But I got confirmation letter from SSET in my first allotment itself. I choose SSET because it has a great infrastructure and wide possibility of opportunities. One of my relative was an alumni of this college and I got to know about the college from her perspective. The response I got from others whenever I asked about my college was really positive and hence I chose SSET. I never got rejection from other colleges I applied to, I simply chose to settle in the first college I got allotted after my KEAM Rank list got published. I chose SSET over other colleges because other colleges were really expensive and I never wanted to push my family to go through such a hard time just for my education. Even though I got admitted to a really great college with a high quality course the fees there in one sem was twice the amount I had to pay in SSET for a year The admission process of my college was quite simple.All we had to do was submit my certificates and sign a few papers. It Lasted only one and half hours. The eligibility to get here included passing the KEAM Exam and having 50% or more pass mark in plus two. The student must have studied Science subject with either Biology or Computer Science as the main Subject. My overall admission experience was really great.
