Remarks

It's a good place, overall. Has it's flaws but it's manageable.

Entrance Preview

COMEDK, KCET and management. Around 150 students per batch. No interview but there's in-house interviews for a few seats (if they're left over). Medical is fun (or so I thought.)

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Good faculty but mostly didetic lectures. Practical learning is mostly more prominent in second year. ICMR for any research opportunities. No electives.

Internships Opportunities

Compulsory internship. I would tell you how if I ever had the opportunity to talk to an intern (we barely see them free). Stipend, after reducing the required amount for charity and hostel fees, is approx 2K per month for a year.

Placement Experience

2

No placement. It's a medical college. Most people go for PG or search for hospitals that will take them. It's a sad life.

College Events

4

A fest every year. It's a pretty big event, organised by Student Council. Pretty great, you should come and see. We other minor ones through the year like camps and fund raisers and what not. Pretty active in this case.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Medical schools are always pricey. This one is no exception. Through COMEDK, it's 5.75 lakhs but it keeps increasing and plus, there's "miscellaneous" which you have to pay for.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships, not sure. No help is provided for getting a loan. It's a charitable institution, I don't expect much.

Campus Life

3.5

Not encourage that much by the college but the student council does try a lot to bring out a lot of extracurricular activities - and they succeed.

Hostel Facilities

2

First years have shared rooms. You get an option of single rooms in second year. No PG. Horrible mess food. Mess is very cheap but the hostel fee is costly. Hostel is 50K for shared and it's 60K for single. It changes when you shift hostels in third year. Mess food is approx. 3K.

Alumni/Alumna

We work with doctors from second year. Many of them are alumni. But that's the only platform that we get. Not sure about alumni getting involved in college development.

Exam Structure

Have internals/sessionals at the end of every term. Extra tests only if you ask for it. But exams are given more preference over lab work.

Faculty

4

Mostly MD qualified. Very interactive and take initiative to improve the learning process. Grade A professors.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
