Remarks
The college is campus is exquisite with lush greenery since it is located on the top of a hill. Weather is student friendly all year round. Also, you'll get everything you need in the shops inside the campus. Academically you are on your own. Don't expect a school-like environment where teachers used to get behind you. Not that I'm scaring you, it's the truth. It's the time of life where you can enjoy a lot and at the same time prepare well for whatever you wanna do ahead. Engineering is not so rewarding and therefore I suggest you to get into something of your to enhance your skillset. Don't forget to explore the lovely city of Pune!
Entrance Preview
I appeared for MHT-CET organized by the State Government. I didn't Score well. 139/200 which is an average score, especially for an Open category student. Got this college after the CAP rounds. Admission was solely based on the CET score and no interview process followed. I Wanted either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering so I chose this course.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU). Thus the course curriculum can be said sometimes challenging. Practical based learning is very less as it was needed. . And research initiatives are also quite less.
Internships Opportunities
Currently, I'm a second-year student. Until now no internships were provided to the students by the college. Probably we'll have it in the third or final year. However, I've been doing work from home internships on my own since the first year.
Placement Experience
Considering Department of Mechanical Engineering the placement last year was about 60 out of 150. The average package varies around 3-5 lakhs with companies like Cognizant, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, TCS etc hiring more number of students. Core companies like Atlas Copco had also visited the campus. Average package is 3-5 LPA.
College Events
The cultural festival Sinhgad Karandak is the biggest of them all. Undoubtedly the best in the city of Pune. Thousands of people throng our campus for the fest every year. Likes of The Chainsmokers and W&W are the DJ's for the pro night! I had not expected such a huge festival but was thoroughly surprised for the first time.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are about 1 lakh for Open category students. Almost half the price for OBC students and subsequently lower for SC and ST students due to the caste reservation.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the SPPU provides scholarships to Economically Backward Class (EBC) students. And for category students there are different scholarships provided. The college also helps us in getting educational loan from banks.
Campus Life
Not much from the college's side except when the cultural and technical fest comes up. You can always push yourself to do individually though or make a group and participate in events of other colleges in the city. There are loads of them happening around all round the year.
Hostel Facilities
No I don't reside in the college hostel. But they do provide it. There are rooms at sharing. The hostel is well maintained & clean. The fees are around 65k annually including mess charges They don't have PGs. The food isn't good enough.
Alumni/Alumna
We have had no interaction whatsoever with the alumni network of our college. The college is supposed to provide such sessions so as to introduce students to the corporate world.
Exam Structure
No not that frequent. Exams are conducted according to the University guidelines so it's mostly chill. There are preparatory leaves as well before the end sem exams when the students can study.
Faculty
Almost all the faculties have a Master's Degree in their field. Some of them are even Ph.D. holders. With a decent teaching experience, they spread the information well. Though the lectures do turn boring due to their monotonous nature sometimes. In the end, it is the student who has to study everything on his/her own. However standard of teaching is good.
