Likes
- I liked the pretty big campus. Beautiful scenes of dal lake Srinagar (Kashmir) just from my hostel room.
- If you have a good academic performance you can have a chance to grab a pretty more than average package.
- Pretty much everything here is new to explore, more for a student who comes just after his/her 12th class. He/she gets to know a lot of things about life.
Dislikes
- (RACISM) Racism for other state students amongst local students.
- Mess food is not great, it is just like you can survive. Nothing much more than that. I won't say anything
- Old infrastructure, like roads are not great inside college campus, you can see high voltage wires hanging on poles in whole campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
I'm currently pursuing my B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from NIT Srinagar. The course duration is of 4 years which consists of 8 semester each of 6 months. Each class has atmost 80 students per faculty. Faculties are well educated and we'll qualified from several IITs and reputed Universities.
Internships Opportunities
If you are in NIT, don't worry about having internships, you can have anytime, a lot of intership opportunities for you are waiting. Specially when you go home in vacations you have plenty of offers from several IITs like IIT Bombay, IIT Bhubaneswar, IIT Delhi, and MNCs like Samsung, Amazon, Infosys, etc.
Placement Experience
College has good placement rates. Although the lower branch students suffer a bit in having a placement. Some of the students don't get the placement at all due to poor academic performance and having low cgpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a lot of scholarship opportunities if you're studying in any NIT in India, it includes all, like private, semi-government, government funded and totally government scholarships. The fees doesn't hike it remains the same for whole 4 years like it was before at the time of admission.
Campus Life
You can have a good social life in college as all the students are from different state of India resulting they bring their several culture. There is 2 fests that we celebrate each year in which one is cultural fest and one is tech fest. You meet a lot of new people and it is so easy to get socialized.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are kinda 3 star hotels, perfect room, perfect corridor, perfect bathroom and toilets, prior supply of hot and cold water in bathroom 24x7. Good supply of drinking purified water. Meal is sometimes good sometimes worse, afterall it is mess food you have to know this harsh truth.
Admission
I have given JEE Main exam 2023. You can fill the JEE Main exam form from jeemain.nta.ac.in The exam occurs in two sessons. You should should score minimum 75% in 12th to be eligible for appearing in this exam.
