Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course as I got this through my wbjee councelling . Student : Faculy = 60:1 For 1st year , students will be under the Department of basic science and most of the teachers in the Basic Science Department are under well qualified . Exams include CA , PCA and Semester are all scheduled by MAKAUT and they are very easy to score especially in CA and PCA

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

There is exponential growth in fee structure and there are government scholarships available for west bengal students like SVMCM . The placements is all sorted for atleast the CSE , IT , CSE ( specilizations ) , ECE departements . Highest off campus was 1.1 cr ( international ) and 30 lpa ( domestic) . On campus average package for CS departments is 5lpa .

Admission

I got into TMSL via wbjee councelling . My rank was 12024 and I was alloted TMSL CSE ( IOT ) in the 1st round of councelling . I wanted for a better branch , so I upgraded and partcipated in the 2nd round of councelling and was alloted TMSL CSE ( Data Science ) . U can get into TMSL via WBJEE Councelling / JEE Mains Councelling and also through Management quota. There are no reservations or quota system in TMSL . Entrance exam : WBJEE and for CSE cutoff is around 8k ( till 3rd round ) and for CSE specilizations it is around 20k ( till 3rd round ) .

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
