KNIT - The place of dreams, disappointments and learnings.

The course curriculum is a little bit old. The college follows the course curriculum provided by AKTU, Lucknow. You will get a very little practical knowledge about the technologies presently being used in the industry. They will not be taught in class, you will have to them by yourself if you want to cop up with the industry. Faculty members are good but not the best. They teach you in class but their way of teaching is just pathetic. You will have to take help of the open-sources like YouTube to gain the complete knowledge of the subjects. Although if you attend class regularly, then the matter taught in class is just enough to pass the semester. I chose the course due to my interest in science. There are almost 8-10 faculty members in each department who handle almost 250 students. Hence the faculty:student ratio ranges from 1:30 to 1:25. Most of the faculty are contract faculties. Faculty are well-qualified but their teaching method is very non-interactive. Semester exam are easy.

Fee is pretty affordable. The course fee for one year is 57,850 (including exam fee and convenience fee and all other charges). You will need to pay extra 10,000 if you opt for college hostel. If you opt for hostel then you will have to pay 20,000 per semester as your mess fee which is not included in above mentioned 57,850. A variety of scholarship opportunities are there. UP scholarship and fee reimburesement can be recieved easily of you are eligible for that. Apart from tha, alumni scholarship opportunities are also there but it is extremely difficult for one to enjoy it as it is given only to the topper of the class subjected to other eligibilities. Fee doesn't hike generally. UP government controls it. Being a 3-tier college located at a very remote location, the job opportunities are too limited. Internship opportunities from college side are negligible. Average package is 4LPA after the completion of course.

Campus life is not too exciting. Hostel infrastructure is very old and no facilities are provided by the hostel administration. You will be provided with basic amenities like toilet, water only. No geyser is there are for boys but it is available in girls hostel. One good thing is that there is no entry time for hostel. You can go out whenever you want and return back as per you wish even in the late night. Hostel gates are always open. You will get free wofi but it doesn't work most of the time. Annual festival "Anubhuti" is there but it hadn't been conducted since the lockdown. Techfest of KNIT is "Effulegence" but it too hadn't been conducted lately. Both of them are generally organised in the window of march-april month. A library is there where you can find all relevant books. Classroms are old styles, they have a white bord and old styled desks. Sports activities are pretty good in college. Most of them are managed by the seniors. A lot of club/councils are also there.

Hostel infrastructure is too old. There is a new hostel which is alloted to the first year students only. Only one girls hostel is there named 'maitreyi'. You will be provided with a light, a ceiling fan, a table, a chair and a bed (takhat) in your room. You will have to bring your bedding items by yourself. Most of the rooms are of triple occupancy. Mess food is of average quality. You will be served with dal, vegetable, roti and rice daily. Special menu is there on Saturday lunch. But the mess remains off on Saturday evening so you will need to eat out on Saturday evening. To be honest, mess food isn't tasty at all but it is enough to survive. Registration process for hostel is very easy. You will be asked to opt for hostel in your very first year during admission. If you opt for for hostel then you will have to pay 10,000 per year as the hostel fee. Apart from that 20,000 per semester must be paid for mess facility. Availing mess facility is compulsort if you opt for hostel.

The admission process was a little bit hectic. Admissions are done through AKTU counseling based on you JEE Mains score. The process is simple, it include applying for AKTU counselling. Cut-off differ on the basis of courses and branches. The eligibility of the couse is 10+2 with PCM with atleast 60% marks. Reservation benefits as per the UP government guidelines are applicable. EWS reservation and fee-waiver is also there.
