Entrance Preview
The university provides an entrance exam "CAT" on an yearly basis. Once you qualify the exam, you are told to choose the courses in your own priority. Seats will be allocated on the basis of the rank you got in the exam. The college invites all the students in a particular rank range for each days. The students are given admission accordingly and the fees of the first semester is then paid. The college offers a wide variety of engineering degrees.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is rigorous. It includes practical and other modes of learning. The curriculum gives more importance to the practical side of learning. Under CUSAT, one of the recent research initiatives is its newly inaugurated ADVANCED CENTRE FOR ATMOSPHERIC RADAR RESEARCH. The facility will aid monitor atmospheric wind conditions across altitudes up to 20 km and beyond. The research has applications in meteorology, cloud physics, thunderstorms, convections, atmospheric electricity and climate change.
Internships Opportunities
the college doesn't offer any internship but it recommends the students to do certain industrial visits. the department heads often pass on informations about internships conducted in other major colleges like IIT.
Placement Experience
the placement differs from branch to branch. but it has a steady progress and more companies and placements offered in each year. there a lot of companies mnc's and indian like L&T, INFOTECH..etc
College Events
the college celbrate its techfest "DHISHNA" and cultural fest "VIPANCHIKA" each year. the programmes are well orgnaised and invites in a massive crowd from all the nearby colleges. the college authities and alumni contribute a lot into the fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is based on the merit the student has. If he has joined by the State Merit , he will have a fees around Rs.22-25k per semester and Rs.45-48k under the All India Merit. The students are given scholarships based on their reservation which would cover all the fees. The rank holders of each branch is awarded Rs.10k by the rspective department.

scholarships are provided in the basis of reservation. each department awards the CAT rank holder a scholarship of Rs.10k.
Campus Life
the college encourages all types of sports and other activities. it provides ample facilities for developing any talent . the university provides gym facilities with experienced trainers. it also conducts sports meet within and with other colleges.
Hostel Facilities
the college provides accommodation to a lot of students. the hostel rooms are allocated on the basis of distance from home and other minor formalities. there are hostels dedicated to the degree students alone, and others which accommodate both ug and pg students, each hostel provides food from its own mess. different food is given for north indians and south indians. the food here is good. It includes both non veg and veg. vegetarians are provided seperately. and the average bill in a month is about Rs.2000 or more.
Alumni/Alumna
the college has a rich alumni. they are provided with platforms to share their views and experiences to the students. they contribute a lot and are very much valuable to the college.
Exam Structure
The curriculum offers two sets internal exams and one final exam. it is not at all exhausting as the student is given enough time to prepare for them. the faculty also offers a second chance for those students who were ill or could not attend the exam due to other reasons. marks are also awarded for assignments, attendance and class tests.
Faculty
The faculty here is highly qualified and experienced. They are very interactive and friendly to the students. They use presentations and other interactive mediums to make the class more interesting. Teachers also try to exhibit the tools and demonstrate their use and action in the class. The classes are provided with projectors.The college offers the students to rate the teaching methodology of all the teachers at the end of every semester from scale of poor to excellent. The student has the freedom to express his/her opinions about the faculty without being worried about any consequences.
