Remarks

BMCRI is the best thing that has happened to me. Everyone looked up to me with respect whenever I mention my college. They allready see a doctor in me. It is the greatest feeling possible. Hope i hain the best out of the opportunity on hand. Waiting to get into our new college building.!!

Entrance Preview

Since ours is a Government Medical College, the only portal of admission was through KCET. I wrote my entrance in 2015 and got through with a good medical rank. Bangalore Medical College is one among the best medical colleges in India and I locked onto it driven by my passion for Medicine. There was no sort of interview conducted, we were alloted seats by KCET based on our ranks and eligibility.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

What more can one say about the Medicine course. Learning every detail, every reason behind every action and reaction of our body to the minutest extent possible and learning how to correct them when they go wrong. Couldn't have asked for anything better!!!Aided by the guidance of wonderful doctors at the college we are on this journey towards the betterment of humanity. Practical Learning, the fun part and my favourite part since my schooling days. In I year MBBS you are required to do everything from dissecting cadavers to pricking yourself for a drop of blood, the latter being the tougher thing to do(surprisingly!). Our college BMCRI, is a hub of research initiatives. Hundreds of undergraduates, postgraduates and doctors are constantly involved in research initiatives. I recently undertook one myself!

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college offers an internship. I have no experience in this regard as I am currently a 2nd year student. Internship lasts for about a year. Students are placed under all departments from Trauma and Casualty to Medicine and Surgery. They are also sent to other hospitals outside the College to add on to their experience.

Placement Experience

4.5

Since ours is a Medical College, there is no point of placements happening. But students of our college definitely earn their seats for post graduation at the best colleges all over India.

College Events

5

There is no end to the list..... Round the clock Medical conferences, Guest lectures etc. Inter college fest - COBALT SKIES Intra college fest Kannada habbha Sports day ... ...

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is an open secret that Government Medical Colleges are the best affordable colleges. The fees included KCET- Rs.16700 Annual college fees varies about- Rs.16,000-18,000.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college definitely reaches out with a helping hand for those who are in need financially. From fee waivers to extended timelines it is extremely student friendly.

Campus Life

3.5

College fests are the best stages to showcase one's talent. Our college has its own musical band, dance crew and theatre company. Timely auditions help students enter such groups. There is also a college basketball, volleyball, football, throwball, hand ball and cricket team.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I am a day scholar and hence don't know much about this.

Alumni/Alumna

I am a current student. But our college has a BMCRI Alumni Association that has contributed a lot to the college.

Exam Structure

We have labs daily. They never are tiresome. Not to me. And we have internals and exams once in 3 months which is fine.

Faculty

4

This is the best part. We are taught by doctors,(faculty is made of doctors), the best in the business. There is a certain hierarchy in the faculty. In the ascending order we are placed below Interns, Postgraduates,Tutors,Associate professors,Professors, HOD and Dean!

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
