Heaven of placement that's what is special about the college. Also there is good aupport from the collage for every initiatives put forward by students. Overall an Ideal college.

Entrance Preview

This college has the best placement records after Nit calicut. With an average salary package over 6lpa from product oriented companies and over 3.5lpa from service oriented companies. The current admission criteria is based on the Keam( Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medical) rank, JEE(Joint Entrance Examination) rank, etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose computer science and past records for computer science are so good. The tech fest of this college Excel is a great opportunity for the students to showcase their practical knowledge. Also there are lot of other opportunities. Excel is the second techfest ever conducted in India. The college is affiliated to KTU(APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University) and follows its syllabus. There are facilities like fab lab to encourage the innovative ideas of students.

Internships Opportunities

College provides help for students to get into well reputed companies for internships. And there was good reviews from the students who attended the internships.

Placement Experience

Best placement record in kerala after Nit Calicut with lots of multinational companies. And good salary packages. Morethan 80% students are placed each year.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

MEC EEE REVIEW

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). I choose this college over gec and tkm because it was in my home town itself and it had better placement opportunities. MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat . One other college i applied to was GEC Thrissur and i chose this over GECT was due to placements and location ....Read More
