Remarks

Overall experience if you ask me, I would say they made me feel like home because I have some really good friends in the college with whom I enjoy a lot in the college but there are many restrictions too. The campus is decent. The college should focus on placement and events because that makes the college life memorable.

Entrance Preview

Maharaja Agrasen College comes under Delhi University, so the admission procedure is based on the merit. Common Admission form is released and students have to fill it, just like I filled it and then cut-offs are released for various colleges. I scored good in my 12 th standard and that made me eligible for getting admission in this college. I took this course because I wanted to do it and my seniors are doing good in this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is standard as it is followed in other Delhi University’s college. The course is more of theoretical and less of practical but our teachers try their best to compensate the gap between the real-life and course by giving various examples. I am not sure about the research work as I am not that frequent to the college. I had some electives in my second and third year.

Internships Opportunities

Internship fair is hosted at times but only startups come for taking students and many students also get certificates for their internships. I don’t know the average stipend because it varies from company to company. I found an internship on my own from internshala and I had a great experience.

Placement Experience

3

We have got this problem of placement in my college because it is not good. No high package giving companies come and only startups come in the college for placements which do not give that good salary package. As far as students of my course are concerned, most of them don’t sit for placements as they decide to pursue higher studies.

College Events

3.5

There are very few events organized in our college when compared to other colleges of Delhi University. I do not like this thing about my college. Some of the events organized in our college Annual Day, Fresher’s party and some national holidays. The average footfall is not that good. The events are organized by the college authorities themselves.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Delhi University’s fee and its academic standard are unbeatable in the country. B. Com. is not a professional course and so my fee is very low. To be exact, my fee is about Rs. 11000 without any extra charges in name of other facilities. This fee is very affordable for me.

Fees and Financial Aid

Well, I haven’t availed any scholarship or any loan for my fee because the fee is quite affordable (only the metro charges burn a hole in my pockets). MAC comes under DU so I am sure there are scholarships that are run centrally by the DU. The college doesn’t facilitate any help for the loans and so students have to find it on their own.

Campus Life

4.5

The college is not that good in terms of Extra Curricular activities, however, the sports facilities and societies are doing great. I am part of the sports society so I can only tell about it. The college schedule is very tight, that leaves the students with no time to participate in other activities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I am not a hosteller and I have never gone inside the hostel too so I cannot comment on it. Well, my friends tell me that hostels are nice and they don’t have any problem as such about the facilities provided there. They do complain about food at times but that happens always. There are many PGs around the college and many students stay there mostly in their final years. The hostel rooms are on double sharing basis.

Alumni/Alumna

An Alumni Meet is organized every year and that is a nice event, and apart from that, there is no other official student-alumni interaction. Students are personally in touch with their seniors and that doesn’t contribute in college’s development but in that student’s development. I am also in touch with my seniors and I really love them for the guidance that they have given me.

Exam Structure

Exams is chill culture in our college as there are just exams in one semester- Mid Sem exams and End sem exams. We don’t have any labs as such so its overall very comfortable. There are just some assignment submissions in the semester and that is the case with every college.

Faculty

4.5

I cannot comment upon the faculty in a single bracket because the experience with teachers vary greatly and that depends upon teachers and student’s mindset a lot. Many teachers have done their P. Hd. And others have atleast done their M. Com. with a lot of industrial experience. Some of them are interesting and some of them are not. The standard of teaching is just average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
