- no life outside campus have underdevloped area
- not good rail as well as airport connections
- since it is the oldest iit so it has old hostels which require renovation
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose mechanical engineering as during my jee prepration i was intrested in physics and love mechanics so i choosed mechanical engineering faculty to student ratio is approx 21:1 all the faculty are highly qualified most of them have done their phd from foreign institutes exams are taken time to time semester ends in 4 months
Internships Opportunities
some companies visited are Microsoft, Google, JLR, JP MORGAN and many more some were startups also stipends vary from company to company but they provide good stipends for people some people also got ppos
Placement Experience
Our college provides good placements students can do internship from whichever year they want but in 5th sem its compulsory to do internship and by the end of 4th year you will be placed in a good company this year due to recession number of companies visted has decreased but still there were good offers 1353 offers to 1277 students highest offer was given to cs student averahe package was approx 21 lpa
Fees and Financial Aid
fees in IITs are bit high but government provide many scholarships timely for the students time to time and also the banks provide loans to the students some scholarships which government provides are adity birla scholarship IET india scholarship siemens scholarship
Campus Life
IIT KGP has two annual fests spring fest and kshitiz (TECH FEST). And they the are held once in a year IIT KGP has one of the largest library in india almost every book is found there and it has the largest digital library classroom are well equpied with good infrastucture there are various social groups and societies to help studends to find out their hidden talent
Hostel Facilities
Rooms are good we have triple sharing in our halls there is good space for every one our quality of mess food is also good but soon you will bored with the menu although it changes every month as soon as the councelling fineshed we were alloted the hostels
Admission
* For you to get in IIT you have to clear jee advance and must have 75% in boards else you not would not be able to sit in jee advance * Every year NTA conduct jee main through which you are eligible to sit in jee advance and before the examination NTA relases the dates of jee main before two or three months
