Entrance Preview

KEAM is the entrance exam conducted by Kerala government for admission of merit seats in Engineering colleges. I choose Mechanical engineering in this college. There are no interview process conducted by College.It is difficult to get admission here for this course because of competition in entrance.

Course Curriculum Overview

This college provides good coaching for Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical workshop is there in each week to do experiments. This course becomes easy through practical learning.

Internships Opportunities

College doesn't provide any internship programme. But we can attend internship programs which helps to increase our skills and practice.

Placement percentage of this college is good. Many companies like TCS, Microsoft, Wipro, Infosys are coming to this college for interview. Our college has special training cell for interview. The companies provide packages of Rs.25000-35000.

Cross road is the main fest conducted in our college. Many technical fest are conducted in a year. Our college has sports club ,NSS ,arts club etc.to conduct social and cultural fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The tuition fee for this course is Rs.75000 per year and along with this fee caution deposit of Rs.10000 have to be paid. A total of Rs.87415 has to be paid at college including all fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

College doesn't provide any scholarship it self . but allow and inform if any scholarship is available to them..bank loan should be allowed by reputed bank and College gives all the essential documents for students to get loans.

Campus Life

College promote and support too many extra caricular activities .such as technical events and social events.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is available in this college. There are separate hostel for boys and girls. Each room is shared by maximum of 3 students. Hostel food is good but not so better.

Alumni/Alumna

College have a great alumni network to students work and mingle with each other. Ragging is banded inside the college campus.

Exam Structure

We are not tired of exams. There are two series tests and one University exam are conducted in a year. Some teachers conduct class test also.

Faculty

Teachers are well qualified and experienced. Their teaching ways are good. They are very interactive to students. They know each students drawback and helps to rectify it.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I had applied for saitgaits,amal jyothi and cet. Considering cet,the fee and placements are high but the discipline and structured way is lacking.Now considering saintgaits and amal jyothi,there are more opportunities in mbcet to explore.. mbcet is also in the town and easily approachable via public transport.mbcet has a disciplined approach to studies.comparing the hostels too mbcet has one of the best hostels. I was rejected in cet for cs dept as i didnt aquire the required rank..i was accepted in both others but decided to join mbcet due to its status in society.
