Course Curriculum Overview
The course is as per the UNIVERSITY norms of MAKAUT, though HITK is an autonomous body, so it has some differences in the syllabus. The Faculties are mostly good, helpful. They are much qualified and have good educational background. The exams are held according to University norms and the difficulty generally varies from moderate to a bit hard.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. A lot of companies visit our college, even a few service-based companies like ORACLE visit HITK. Nearly 70% of students from noncore departments get placed. Some opt for higher studies. My plan is to get into tech after graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is 43-44k per semester. The fees are quite low as compared to other private colleges in West Bengal. There are no on-campus scholarship opportunities. Students from West Bengal and having less than 2.5 lpa annual earnings can avail of WB Govt's SVMCM scholarship. The college provides quite good placement opportunities as compared to other private colleges. The placements are also improving year by year
Campus Life
HITK conducts great fests, but it has stopped conducting those from the past 2 years during the pandemic but will surely begin those shortly. The library is quite big and contains many books of different genres. The college also provides an online library for students. A lot of sports and tournaments are held in the college from archery to swimming.
Admission
I appeared for WBJEE examination and got the seat through WBJEE counselling. The cutoff for the ECE dept in HITK, goes till 11.5k till the mop up/spot round for WBJEE state quota candidates. The college doesn't have any specific eligibility, but you need to appear either fir WBJEE or JEE MAINS and also have 60% in your 10+2 examination.
