Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is comprehensive, blending theory and practical applications. I chose it for its relevance to my career goals. Faculty-student ratio is favorable, ensuring personalized attention. Professors are highly qualified, employing effective teaching methods. Term exams are timely, and passing requires dedication, but the challenge is manageable with consistent effort.
Internships Opportunities
I myself am a first year so have only heard about intership from my seniors. My seniors from various societies have gotten good internships. So if you truly are good enough and are willing to work hard you can secure a good internship.
Placement Experience
My seniors got placed. But the placement numbers have gone down significantly over the years. Mostly circuital branches are offered the packages ranging from crores for cs students while industrial students also get good placement. Other core branch students tend to go more towards the it sector.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is reasonable, with a transparent policy on hikes. Scholarships like Merit-cum-Means provide financial assistance. On-campus jobs, such as research or teaching assistant roles, offer stipends.
Campus Life
Life on campus is vibrant. Annual fest, Spring Fest, and tech fest, Kshitij, in January, are highlights. The library is well-stocked with books and journals. Classrooms are equipped with modern amenities. Sports and extracurricular activities thrive, fostering a balanced environment. Various student-run clubs and groups, like the Coding Club, enhance the social fabric.
Hostel Facilities
From my personal experiences the hostels provide bed, desk, and basic amenities. Meal quality is not too good, and registration processes is a bit hectic but still doable. Renting options aren't available only hostel is allowed.
Admission
Admission to IIT Kharagpur typically involves JEE Advanced. Application includes exam registration, qualifying exam, and counseling. These Cut-offs vary yearly. I had to prepare really hard for 2 years for the test.
