Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of its hugh internship and placement opportunities.The students here are the top students of the nation and are all good at academics and even extra academics . faculty student ratio is 1:30.All the teachers are well qualified We have a sem of 4 months which include a midsem exam and endsem exam .The exams are of good level

Class Size: 150Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Google,oracle ,goldmann sachs ,Puma, Capgemini, Deloitte, EY, ICICI Bank The internships are in roles varying from finance to software development roles .The on campus internships are for students who are a year down their graduation year

Placement Experience

The placement in my IIT is really good and if a guy is in circuital branch like me then the placement and package is even better.Top companies like Google,Oracle and Goldmann sachs come for placements

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee for a sem cost about 1 lakh rupees.There are chances of scholarship based on your family background but i am not aware of any scholarship based out of academic winnings.The internship and placement opportunities in this college is why there is a lot of competition to get in

Campus Life

The life in campus is pretty good .We have the chance to make a lot of good friends and interact with seniors which will prove to be good in future because all of these people will be the ones getting placed in top positions all over the world.The Library is also pretty good with a lot of materials on engineering.The sports opportunities in mesmerizing

Hostel Facilities

Our college is one of the oldest IITs so the rooms are not that great .The infrastructure provided to us in hostels and academic area are completely opposite and tje toilets are sharing which are not that clean

Hostel Fee: INR 80000 per year

Admission

Admission is done through entrance exam of JEE .cutoff rank for general is 1500 wheres for obc it is 4000 rank . application starts every year at December and first phase of exam that is jee mains is at Jan and april and second phase is at jee advanced

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

THERE ARE FAR BETTER OPTIONS

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I did not apply for any other colleges apart from IIT Kharagpur. I did apply for better branches in the same college but could not get into any due to thr rank range I fell into after JEE Advanced.
