IIT Kharagpur - Journey for dreams

The two reason for choosing agriculture and food engineering :- belong to the family where expenses are dependent on agriculture.I will dig and understand the course curriculum more deep. In the foreign countries, High demand of agriculture engineers(a good high paying career) Faculty student ratio:-1:14 Easy to communicate with profs and infact they are familiar and make us comfortable to talk with them.(my experience) The teachers are highly qualified as all are PhD Holders from foreign or renowned universities( mostly from IITs) and passed an interview and exam to teach there. Teaching Method is so good as it includes practical+ theory+lab classes. The aura is so good that you automatically understand how to study. Assessment is done through various written exams,vivas and lab exams. The duration of a semester is around 4 months. For each semester two main theory exams:- mid sems and end sems(in 2nd and 4th month)and several tests, assignments. Difficulty:-moderate.

We have internship facilities through CDC(Career Development Centre) in our 3rd year. Various companies like Amazon,honeywell, Salesforce,sprinkler, Google ,Nutanix, Jaguar Land Rover, Oracle,Adobe, Reliance -jio, Qualcomm, American Express, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Bajaj, Piramal provide roles for software,quant, finance, product management, deep learning field roles. Different companies offers different roles and for time period with role related stipend. For to participate in CDC internship program you must have CGPA of atleast 8.5 and above.

The placement scenario is good in IIT Kharagpur . Students are eligible to sit in placements in their 4th year. Placements are conducted in two phases . First phase is before the start of 8th semester and the second phase is after the end. A very large number of companies visit campus every year to ensure selection of quality employees for their corporate. The placement percentage of this year is 86%. The Highest package is 2.68 crores per annum while the average is 13 lpa. For companies apple,Airbus, Microsoft, Google, capital one, Accenture,rubrik, Amazon etc. is an attractive spot. Technical and software compo having their dominance in the college placements this year despite of economic recession. My plans are to achieve placements from here.

Fees in the IITs are very High. But you needn't not to worry . There'll be scholarships. Fees :- - 1100000 lakhs - 2.75 lakhs yearwise Scholarships:- Post matric scholarship National scholarship portal scholarships for ST,SC, OBC and financially weak students NSP scholarship Beside scholarships, banks also provide low interest education loan (I got at 8.25%).You will have to pay it after college. A Variety of Internships are provided in 3rd year btech. On-campus Placements are provided by my College with an average annual salary of 1200000. The placement rate is 86% around here. Also, Due to college tag , recognition and alumni network you got help when apply for off- campus. So you needn't to worry about future.

On one side there are academics and on the other is campus life. Campus life is so cool that it will force one to make that 4 years most memorable of your life. Many cultural and society activities are done everytime but the most awaited are - Spring fest, kshitij and shaurya, ILLU. Spring fest is a main fest of IITkgp which falls in January,every year. It's happens for 3days under different events and stage performances happened. Kshitij is a tech fest,also comes in January.Robowars,EDM,Drone racing challenges and Gaming competition and musical nights etc.. happens. Besides all these, academic facilities are quite good.Each hall(hostel) has its' own library and reading rooms .Along these, There is a Hugh centralised well facilitated library having over 1 lakh books with 24*7 opening hours. Classrooms are quite good having digital projector screen system and benches arranges in terrace form. Each class is well maintained having speakers to maintain sound till end.

It's a good thing that in my college that we have provided hostels in the campus. The registration process happens when you first admit in the college and believe me it is so comfortable. The administrative bodies are helpful and make you feel that now you are part of this institute. They provide double sharing rooms having water, electricity, Wifi-LAN, geysers, study tables,chairs, two bed facility.Each room have a beautiful balcony to comment the mesmerizing landscape of college. We have food 4 times a day namely breakfast,lunch,snacks, dinner. All the four meals best known for their unique quality. The mess menu is different for different days and runs in week cyclic order.

Well, In the IITs the admission process is through the JEE. To study in IITs, you need to prepare for JEE. It comprises a set of two exams - JEE mains and JEE advanced.JEE mains is for admission in NITs, IIITs and GFITs and other colleges and JEE advanced for IIITs and other reputed colleges (like IISC , RGPVT) . For securing admission in IIT you need to qualify both. The eligibility criteria is:- 1. Must have subjects P/C/M as core in Higher secondary. 2. Must have atleast 75% marks or in the top 20% percentile of state in 12th boards.(especially in PCM). 3. Must qualified JEE advanced and JEE mains. Application Dates :- Mains: 1-30 Dec 2023 Advanced:- 30April-5 May 2024 Application fees: Mains:- -1000 for General and OBC( for males) -800 for females -500 for SC,ST and PWD category Advanced:- -3200 (OBC,Gen males ) - 1600 (all females,SC,ST and PWD) Cutoff:- JEE mains :- 90 %ile.( For Gen) 74%ile(for Gen EWS and OBC ncl) JEE advanced:- 86/360 (Gen) 76/360(OBC-NCL/Gen-EWS)
