Likes

The college library is very nice and having every type of books.
the annual events and sports day are very enjoyable and exciting to watch.
The college canteen is also superbb having delicious foods.

Dislikes

the college is at a hill top, climbing everyday is stressful.
The college lift also dont work everyday.
there are no placements and job oppurtunites.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because I was interested in electronics and wanted to study and explore various fields in it. Faculty in every department is highly qualified and very interactive. teaching methods are good. There are two sessional tests that are unit tests and very semester-end has final papers that are moderate to pass.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 25000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are 25000 for boys and 10000 for girls in the even semester and 15000 for girls and 28000 for boys in odd semesters. Various government scholarships can be used. For girls and economically weaker sections, there are numerous schemes. job through campus is not there.

Campus Life

There is an annual fest called Twask that takes place, it is very good to watch. The library is very big with a vast variety of reference books and guides. classrooms are well furnished and ventilated. There is a sports event that takes place for 2 days having various sports like basketball, chess, volleyball, etc.

Admission

The admission was based on 12th marks and jee basis. you can find application forms on the HPTU University site. There are reservations for obc and SC, ST but I was general category, so got no benefit.

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

yes they povide placements. After 6th sem, means in 7th sem you are eligible for placement and apply for companies based on their requirements. Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon and many more visits every year. Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Great Learning, Friendly Campus, and Bright Future

I applied to AKTU, IPU, and a few private colleges. I got selected in 2, but picked this college as it has low fees, good teachers, and fair job offers. Seniors also gave good reviews about the labs and coding help. Yes, I could not get a seat in IPU due to low rank. I was close but missed the cutoff for CS. My JEE score was not high enough. I did not apply under spot round as I had already joined this college. Admission is based on JEE Main or state test like HPCET. Cutoffs differ for each branch. You need to pass 12th with PCM.
