Thapar University Review

I pursued B.E Electronics and Computer as it is a combination of both the Electronics department and Computer Science department. The students can learn about both hardware and software fields in this course. There are subgroups divided in each branch containing 20-25 students. The faculty is highly educated and experienced in their respective fields, and their teaching method is also very good. They are available whenever needed. There were two exams in each semester. The mid-term exams and the end-sem exams, sessionals, and lab evaluations also took place. They were quite difficult and you have to study to pass with good marks in them.

The companies that offered internships are JPMC, Linkedin, Expedia, etc, and they provide internships to the selected students. Some companies also give ppo then to some students. The students get to know about the company and do the projects assigned to them.

There are companies coming for the summer intern , and then the six-month intern. Then the companies come for FTE. Above 70% students get placed. The average package this year is 8 lpa. The companies came for software profile, hardware profile and non tech profiles too.

The fee increases every semester starting at around 1,60,000 and it is approximately 25 lacs for the course including the hostel fees. There are scholarships provided based on the marks every semester.

The campus life of Thapar University is very nice. There are many societies, and each society holds its programs every year and the students get many opportunities to take part in competitions, and hackathons and do extracurricular activities too. There is a massive library also on the campus with a wide variety of books and journals. Students have many opportunities in sports too on campus.

The hostel facilities provided are fantastic. The food quality is also very good here. Each semester, there is a form to fill out for registration of a hostel for the upcoming semester, and students can choose which hostel they have to avail of options. The hostels have single seater, double seater, triple as well as four-seater rooms. The hostel fee depends on which type of room is available. The rooms also have AC services. Some hostels have attached washrooms too. If you do not want to avail of hostel facilities, you can rent a PG outside campus also.

The eligibility criteria for BE/BTech courses is class 12th. Selection could be through both the 12th percentage and the JEE Main score. The candidates can visit the official website of Thapar University for the application form and to know all about the application process,fees and dates.
