SIES College of Arts Science and Commerce, Sion(W). Should you go for CS course or not?

The course is quite simple and you will have everything for a beginner in IT industry. This course provides a vast knowledge about computer applications and introduce the concept of modernized and smart world. It is dedicated to CS Students who wants to build career in IT. In this college main priority is given to knowledge. Every teaching faculty of CS dept are highly knowledgeable. The behaviour of non teaching staffs may vary from person to person. The HOD of CS dept is knowledgeable no doubt but he doesn't take teaching that much serious so there some cons. Rather than that the rest of the teachers are very friendly. You can contact with them when you have a doubt they respond to every text or call from students. They will guide you through out the course. Every semester is consists of 2 exams one is internal and other is main. The questions are intermediate levels. So that everyone can understand and attend the questions.

Well teachers will provide you the information about the companies which are hiring interns in various domains. You have to go for the interview and all. Apart from that some teachers also hire students as I tern on the basis of their knowledge to work on certain applications. It will be unpaid internships but you can get to know all the knowledge regarding you career and industry needs. You will be provided 2 projects in the last of the year that is 3rd year of the course where you can create projects on your choice with a group of 2 to 3 people.

Well for me the course fee is quite costly. Each year of this course has a different fee policy and on average, I can say it is around 40k. Placement that is the campus selection is very poor. The faculties provide us the details about various jobs and notify us when there are but those are external sources. So in general I can say there are no campus hikes. You can get opportunities for internships for this course in college too. That is our teachers hire some students for internship purposes so that you can learn so many things and get a certificate as well. There are also scholarships for students who are in need. They just have to verify some documents and half of the admission fees can be deducted.

There are 2 to 3 clubs in our college. For example Leo Club. They organize events on a monthly basis. You can access many extracurricular activities inside or outside the college premises. All the departments of the college organize events each year. CS dept organizes its event called Ziegers every year. This is a grand fest. Apart from that, the college's annual event called Visions is also organized as a grand fest. So many contestants come from different colleges to participate in all the events. Our college has social activities like NCC and NSS. Through NCC our students get placement in Indian Army also. Our college has a sports facility. Annual sports, inter and intra-college sports are also done. Our college has its cricket team, badminton, football, table tennis, etc.

I came to this college from the 2nd year of my Under Graduaion. The eligibility was simple you shouldn't have any backlog and score a minm of 6 to 7 CGPA in the previous semester. Application is provided from college office and you have to fill it and you have to make the payment through DD only. There won't be any extra charge and the admission process is quite simple and fast. When I came only single desk was there for the admission and while in gross there will be temporary setup for the admission process to attend the crowd. You have to take admission for each year and pay the amount you can pay it in installments also.
