Remarks

The attached hospital is old but recieves a very high input of patients with many interesting cases. The management is though not much involved with our academics, they are quite supportive in cases of providing facilities or in any other issues. Though the college has good facilities and faculty, the hostel management is poor especially in terms of maintainace.

Entrance Preview

Actually when I was joining it was through the K CET. But now it is through the NEET but the allotment of almost 85% seats is through the Karnataka examination authority (KEA). I had scored 121 out of 180. I opted this college mainly because of the patient input and its location. Belagavi is a beautiful city.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is divided into 3 phases. The first phase is preclinical with 3 subjects and is of 1-year duration. The second phase is divided into three semesters of 6 months with 4 paraclinical subjects. The third phase is divided into 2 years with just 3 subjects.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the stipend is around 20 to 25k. Expected to increase to 35k. Our internship is in our own hospital only. And we get exposure to various kind of cases and learn different ways to deal with tough situations.

Placement Experience

5

The question is irrelevant as almost everyone goes for PG and our seniors are doing very well in the Pg entrances. In the recent exams, some of them have got seats in prestigious institutes like AIIMS, pgi , Maulana Azad, Goa medical college. But roughly after we complete our PG , on an average we can earn 70k pm.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Actually, it's very less just about 13k per year, variable with your batch. And there is a relaxation for the students of sc and st categories. Additional university exam fees are to be paid during exams and there is actually no problem with the payment, it is very much feasible.

Campus Life

3.5

The Gender ratio is about 60:40 with more boys than girls and mainly students are from Karnataka and also there is a good strength of students from North India and Kerala too. We organise and participate in many extracurricular events in and around belagavi and also in fests of other medical colleges. And I am actually proud of being one among the organising batch currently.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Separate hostels are there for boys and girls. 2 guys in a room which is well and furnished with attached bathroom. There are sufficient rooms for students and its cost is 9000 p.a paid 6 monthly in instalment of 4500. The hostel has a recreation room with TV indoor games. Has a gym and a study room too with wifi connection.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, our alumni really help us a lot in preparing for pg entrance and even there are instances where alumni have together opened hospitals.

Exam Structure

Actually, as we don't have semester system the exams are not hectic but syllabus is quite vast. But we can be chill. Actually, It varies with the year you are in like MBBS lll/l (3rd year) is quite relaxed but the final year is bit hectic. In case of the first year, it takes time to adjust to the curriculum hence may feel bit hectic. 2nd year is quite lengthy but has proportionate syllabus too.

Admission

There were notifications from the kea and there were 3 rounds of counselling in which . We have to enter colleges according to our priority. After the allotment of seat according to your rank and priority . You are given a duration of time to fill the simple set of forms of basic info and submit your documents like marks card and your allotment order etc. The procedure is easy but quite lengthy.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty here is quite experienced and quite supportive. All the departments have highly qualified doctors, With only a few exceptions. Even the pre and para departments have good facilities in the departments. Actually, though classes are held regularly, we do not attend them properly as we have many tourist destinations around belagavi (Goa)

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
