THAPAR-an honest review

-->wanted to pursue computer science and couldnt get it in any other good college so the best out of the remaining was thapar -->student to faculty ratio is good in tutorial classes which is around 1:30 and in lecture halls its 1:120 -->teachers are phds from highly reputed institues such as nits ,iits,bits and iiits. -->term exams are not that tough and can be cleared easily by keeping up with the classes giving time for other interests.

-->jp morgan recruits some students for internships meanwhile most of the internships are off campus -->many student le startups and amazing societies such as ccs and mars are there -->student led startups provide oppurtunities to children and huge alumni network favours during placements

-->companies do come for internships in second year -->microsoft , american express, amazon, deloitte,infosys,jp morgan etc visit campus -->highest package ranged to around 60 lpa and avg package for coe is 12 lpa -->70% students easily get placed -->after the degree i plan to work as software engineer

-->fee hikes are made time to time so if u can afford only then study in here since children here are also well to do -->scholarships are available on both need and merit basis cutoffs for which are pretty decent and not very low

-->saturnalia , food fest and many more are there such as urja the biggest sports fest -->it has 7th best library in the world which is huge and very nice -->classrooms are well equipped with lighting desks ac etc. -->sports culture is decent and nice sports teachers are available with huge grounds -->50+ clubs and societies for children with varied interests are there

-->nice lighting and ac faciltiy with ac being functional thoroughout the year and for whole day -->hot water taps all day in winters -->decent mess food and night canteen also available for exams -->hostels are pretty good as per the fees -->no need to rent pg or flat

--> eligibilty varies statewise where the cutoffs for punjab students are lesser than the outside ones -->application form can be accessed fro the thapar website and admissions are taken on the basis of both jee as well as board exams -->reservation is available for sc,st students from both punjab and outside -->statewise reservation should be reduced i believe since people from all over india aspire to go to the best they can achieve.
