Remarks
The only disadvantage I find is lack of a City in the surrounding. The nearby city is Chandigarh but it takes 6 hours to reach by bus. Hamirpur is a small hamlet and very remotely located.

I got admission at NIT Hamirpur through CPET. Institution Reputation, Facilities, Good Academic Standards and being near to my native place made mind to choose this institution.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum followed by NIT Hamirpur is of high academic standards. The institution provides all kind of support to conduct the research and development work. Almost in five years curriculum is revised at large scale through curriculum workshops to keep it up to date.
Internships Opportunities
yes, it does provide the internship. The stipend is not given to any trainee but it does charge a nominal fee to provide the internship.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are sufficient and almost everyone gets placed in reputed MNCs. Companies such as Infosys, Texas, Accenture, TCS, BEL, Reliance etc. visit the campus for placements. Only MNCs with a good reputation is allowed for the campus placements.
College Events
Annual Cultural Festival known as" Hill Fair" is quite famous in the region. it has been celebrated since from 1990 at large scale. "Nimbus" is the technical festival being organized at National Level on yearly basis. all institutions all over India are invited to participate in the events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Reasonable Fees is being charged in my time but nowadays as per instructions issued by GOI, it has been enhanced substantially. as per GOI policies i understand all institutions of such types are being driven towards self-sustainability and that is only possible through fees enhancement, consultancy etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
SBI campus branch does offer education loan. Institute itself does not provide any loan to the students. many students do take an educational loan from the SBI.
Hostel Facilities
Sufficient number of Hostels are available on the campus. Every student is provided with a hostel facility. Every hostel has its own Mess providing a quality food three times a day. students do prefer PG accommodation outside the campus on their own but number is very less.
Alumni/Alumna
ALUMNI network is also very active. many ALUMNI meets across India and abroad are being Organised from time to time in the name of Local Chapters.
Exam Structure
academic pressure on the students is sufficient and they are also able to spare time for extracurricular activities. Assignments, Quizzes, Seminars are being exercised to keep students busy and learning. Mock test is also conducted from time to time and made compulsory to every student
Admission
I got admitted to NIT Hamirpur Formerly known as REC Hamirpur through CPET( Common Pre Engineering Test). I got admission form from REC Hamirpur itself and came to know about the admission notice through Newspaper (The Tribune). Administration was quite Responsive, Cooperative and Professional.
Faculty
Faculty at NIT Hamirpur is well qualified and able to disseminate knowledge at par with the institution of National and International Repute. Faculty does have a strong zeal towards teaching the courses right from the heart. All faculty members are well aware of the quality education and they do provide it to the students in a best possible way.
