My Experience with the College

All the faculty were good, except one or two, especially from electronics dept. Over all it was a nice experience. Especially we had South India and All India Study tours. It was very nice. That is the most memorable moments in the campus life.

Kerala Entrance Examination. I scored around 6000th rank. I opt this college mainly because it was near by home. It offered Computer Engineering Course.

The course curriculum was affiliated to CUSAT. Quiet a tough syllabus and the faculty was young and talented. The results used to come in time and it was very difficult to get good marks as the evaluation was very tough. Only after clearing first semester, we can be promoted to the third semester, and only after passing in the second semester, we will be admitted to the fourth and so on until eighth semester.

At the time there was no internship provided. We had to find it outside the colleges. We could do our projects in industry, which was an added advantage. All the faculty were ready to help us in any difficulty.

Campus placements was there. Companies like Wipro, Nest etc came. Many of the students got placement in different companies. The offers I do not remember, as it was long back.

Fresher's day, Arts and Sports festival, College Day etc. They were very interesting and I participated in throw ball game. It included both technical festivals and cultural festivals.

Feasible. We had to pay only Government fees that time. Now there is two types of seats. Government seat and payment seat. There was no fees for the reservation students.

Scholarships were offered by Govt. College will not provide any loan facility, students and parents have to find their own way to arrange for the loan. All scholarships provided by the government we can apply for.

Campus life was super. Good assignments were given by faculty. They used to give us opportunity to take seminars in the class. Gents were more and ladies were less in number. Politics was not there. There was no discrimination with regard to race,religion, economic status etc.

I was not a hosteller. As I was a day scholar, I am not much aware of the hostel food. Accomodation was better.

Super alumni network. Senior students were very helpful. At that time, there was ragging. But after the freshers day onwards they were friendly. Alumni used to help their juniors in all the ways they could, especially, in placements and all.

Exams were hectic. Very frequent. We used to have two series tests and one internal lab exam and two or three assignments to be submitted in time. We have to get 45 marks in the University exams and minimum 30 marks in the internal to get pass marks.
