Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

1st of all I have chosen this college and this course cause it have on campus placement and a pretty good average package in the top branch like CSE IT etc. As I am in 1st year so the curriculum doesn't provide something special just same extend version of class 12 pcm but all the lab classes like ECE, Phy, mech, chem helps a lot for concept clearance and physical understanding. The only thing I don't find logical is that I am an IT student but I have to learn phy, and chem in my 1st year which doesn't make sense at all and some of the faculty members in this college just teaching themselves in class so that's my sleeping hour that time, they should teach with a smart board and use the projector for better understanding and should use the mic to reach out the backbenchers also. There are 2 sem in each year of the 4, each exam is of 60 and holds for 2.5 hours and practicals, viva, internal, etc. combined carries 40 marks and the passing marks is 40/100, exams are difficult if u don't study.

Placement Experience

3

Placements are pretty average in we look at the average package annually, for top branches it is about 5-6 lacks but overall it is only around 4.5 as due to the drought of placements in the core. Mostly mass recruiters are there with some biggies like Amazon, tata, etc. Almost 60-70% students get placed annually. My plan is to get a good off campus if not I will consider on-campus as my backup.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees is 3.93 lacks for 4 years and you have to pay almost 50k for each sem. But the complete cost of my personal will be around 6 lacks for 4 years as per my prediction. There are so many govt. And private scholarship available for the course for WB students there is SVCM scholarship which is the most common and many more private scholarships but u can only apply for 1 govt. At a time. And also you can use student credit card facility for easy money paying. I have heard the campus placement and everything is pretty good even though I am just a fresher currently.

Campus Life

3.5

There are many festival goes on in college but currently I don't remember any of there name but it happened typically after every 3 months. There's a wide range of books available in the library. facilities are okeish in comparison to other good colleges but the college infrastructure is pretty good but the campus area is small. games like cricket, volley, badminton, tt, chess everything happens but no football. there are many clubs in the college of diff interests like drama, films, sports, music, dance etc.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

facilities are good, I have a drawer, table, chair, box bed, hanging hooks everything. meals are average and have daal, roti, sabji, paneer, chicken, eggs, fish, accordingly everyday but on thursday we have only veg. nothing special during registration just fill a form and payment the advance you are in.

Admission

As we know it's a private engineering college, so there's no caste based cutoff here but they have ews & pwd special catagory. The admission process is pretty simple, you have to give an entrance exam called WBJEE to pass the cutoff rank or also you can take direct admission through management quota by paying extras. You can find the application form for WBJEE when it comes in wbjeeb.nic.in, the date will be notified in the same website, application fees is 500 for male gen; 400 for other backward male and gen female; 300 for backward female. The exams are divided into 2 parts, the 1st one is Maths which goes on for 2 hours then 30 min break then 2nd one is Phy and Chem combined for 2 hours again. To be honest, I find the 2nd paper is not that tough but the 1st paper is only easy for maths lovers cause every question is very lengthy to solve. In the admission process, I only don't like this management quota system otherwise everything is okay.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
