OUR COLLEGE

I think pursuing btech is one of the wisest decision in my life beacuse it enhances our technical mind which is very useful in todays world.Every person should have one technical degree in his or her life to cope up with this technical world .This thing motivated me to pursue this degree. Every one knows the quality of education IITS,NITS provide to their students during course curriculum. The professors here are from different IITS,NITS so this is a great opportunity for the students to gain as much as they can.And we are being taught in well well-mannered way to deal with the real world. The improvement areas I think its difficult to find because we are getting everything we want to become good engineers. Yes, exams are a little bit difficult. For good, a student has to do a lot of hard work. We have two exams one mid-semester and the other end sem in one semester. Sem is 1.5 hours and the End sem is 3 hrs.

The internship opportunities available in our college is good.Many opportunities are given by our alumni network also.Many seniors are placed in good company so their connections helps a lot in getting better internship opportunities.

In the end of 7th semester students are eligible to sit for the placements. There are many companies which visit NIT HAMIRPUR. In our chemical department average package is 8-9 lakh and highest package 14-15 lakh. 50 -60 percent student got placed from our college every year. To get placed in good company is gaol right now.

The fee structure is according to the category .The students who belong to gen-ews ,sc,st costs 3-4 lakh for whole btach course.The student who belong to obc costs 8-9 lakh for whole btech course.The student who belong to general category cost 12-13 lakh for whole btech course.The scholarships are mostly for homestate students .There is very less chances to get scholarships .

There are two fests conducted every year HILLFAIR (annual cultural fest) and NIMBUS(annual technical fest).HIILFAIR is organised in month of november and NIMBUS is organised in month of april. The best thing I found in my college is library .It has lots of book available for the students.Libraries are opened till12 midnight for the students . The classrooms are well maintained and all facilities are available in respective department. The campus has specific area known as SAC(student activity area) for extra curricular activities like indoor games, dance, music, club works. If student is involved in any club or society then his\her impact on their studies depends on time management.Some students are good in societies and clubs both.But it ha nothing to with the placements.Student has to do study for good placements.

Hostel life is good if student manages it well and enjoy each and every day whether its about study or enjoyment.Our room has all the facilities like LAN,almirah ,tables.And the rooms are allocated according to cgpa. The quality of food is good and the menu are according to the students demands.And is student is not satisfied with the menu then they can directly go to the mess committie for the change in menu. Hostel registration process is easy and we get registered during the starting of the semester .And hostel allotment is done every year.We had to show the fee receipt for hostel registration. There are 7-8 hostels and there is separate hostels for girls and boys. I think hostel life is better compare to pg beacuse the experience we get in hostle life ,this experience we cant get in pg and hostel life plays a very important role in our college life.

The eligibility of the joint entrance examination(JEE) is that the student should be in class 12 appearing or passing. The application form for this examination is provided on the site of NTA(National Testing Agency)site. The results admit card, score card, and application form are provided on this site. NTA renews its website every year. In this examination, students who belong to the gen-news,obc, sc, and st categories are getting reservations according to the percentage mentioned in the information bulletin on the site of NTA. This exam is not easy to crack but it's not difficult also. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. It is conducted in two shifts morning and evening shifts. The examination demands fast calculation, accuracy, and concept clarity. The admission process in various IITS, NITS, and GFTIS took nearly 2 months which is called JOSAA counselling. The student needs to be patient during these two months to get a better college.
