Remarks

Walchand college is best for placement, which is the main purpose of taking engineering in life. Every college has it's pros and cons but Walchand college gives you starting point for your career. It is best to start with.

Entrance Preview

I heard that Walchand college wass best in placement like 100% placement was there. Also it is good for all types of students (mainly for poor/middle class students) as required very less amount to spend on education there. It is providing high quality education with exposure for confidence building (candidate need to involve in clubs like Rotract, SAIT, PACE etc.)

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I was in IT branch. 1st contains same subjects to every branch students. from 2nd year, in IT we had projects on every semester also different programming languages on each semester. Also main subjects like Data base, Operating System, Algorithm etc. were part of curriculum.

Internships Opportunities

No intership is provided in Walchand. Only M.Tech students of walchand college gets some stipend if they are teaching to college students. I don't have idea about amount.

Placement Experience

5

Placement is damm good. Its good from COEP college also. In Walchand college almost every student's get 2-3 companies in hand from campus interview itself. Also the package offered by some companies were very huge(like form 8L to 40L). Placement is mainly best for computer and IT students.

College Events

4

There are lots of events students celebrates in college. They have gatherings includes dance, drama, songs etc. They are Vision event, includes book ceremony, and all branches related events.Every club arranges their own events for students. Some clubs arrange knowledge sessions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you are from backward class and having income less than 3.5L(don't know current criteria), you will get back all the fee in next year which you paid to college. For others it's quite expensive but I am sure that it is not as much expensive as PUNE or Mumbai colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Nothing specifically from college offered to students. Only Gov. scholarships and bank loan facilities can be entertained there.

Campus Life

5

In Walchand, you will come across many clubs like rotract, Pace, Sait, WLUG, etc. Rotract and Pace are two major clubs open for all students and all branches have their own clubs. These clubs are majorly helps students to gain knowledge, current affairs and develop personality. Also the department specific clubs helps in academics.

Alumni/Alumna

I think alumni network is not that good for IT, computer and electrical branches. But every year, huge Alumnis from Mechanical and Civil departments are going to Walchand college.

Exam Structure

Exam structure changed two times when I was studying in that college. I got to know that it again changed in 2016 but i don't have much idea about that. At our time it was with cumulative marking structure, having 20-30-50 pattern. 20 - internal marking, 30 - Unit Test and 50 - semester written exam. For unit test, it is totally depend on teachers that how they want to conduct it(i.e. it can be written or online or practical basis).

Admission

At our time, there were only 6 autonomous colleges (Walchand is one of them). So before CAP process, autonomous colleges had their own process for admission. 'Every candidate must have more than 100 marks in CET' was the main criteria. We had to fill up form(hard copy)manually and submit to COEP college pune. and whole admission process was taken at that institute only.

Faculty

3.5

In IT we had some experienced faculty having 10 to 20 years of experience and some faculty who were taking our practicals are mostly recently joined or M.Tech students. They helps if you show pro-activeness in study and in practicals.Major focus was on projects.

In Kit college their are some rules for placement drive. In 7th sem companies started to visit our college. During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
