Likes
- Lush Green Campus with many picture perfect places. There are many places to visit near the campus which are tourist destination as well.
- Sports facilities like badminton, football,cricket and many more. A special Student Activity Centre or SAC is there for students to play indoor sports.
Dislikes
- There are manh restrictions if you have to go out of campus. One cannot go out with permission of MMCA and sunday's outing are not allowed. Campus location is remote so there are not much food stalls near the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview
Cirriculum here is based on National Education policy by Government of India. IN 1st year everyone has same syllabus divided in 2 groups. Cirriculum here is good as it teaches basics about every field. In a semester 2 type of exams are conducted i.e. Mid Semester and End Semester. Exams are of medium level and no holidays are provided for mid semester exam.
Internships Opportunities
Interships are provided by campus during the month of may to july which last around 6-8 weeks. The stipend is around 30000 to 1,00,000. Companies like Paytm, UTC, SAP Labs visit to provide internship. Projects in Engineering interships were: Battery thermal management Energy Efficient IOT Network Hydrothermal synthesis of nanomaterials Text Mining etc.
Placement Experience
Placements in college are really good specifically for the students of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science Engineering. When student enter his/her 7th semester, he is eligible for placements. For Computer Science and Engineering, companies like CRED, Deloitte, Samsung, Reliance Jio visits the campus. All time highest package was 1.73 crore in the year 2022-23. Around 690 students out of 952 were placed with the percentage of 72.65% Average package was 12.74 Lakh.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fees do'not increase much as this is a central institute. During admission my total fees was 140000 including 40000 of hostel. Even semester fees was 108000 with 25K mess fees and rest tuition fees. Scholarship are provided for those who belong to SC, ST and on financial basis i.e. parents annual income bracket. For annual income less than 1 lakh (Even open) 75% scholarship. For 1 lakh to 5 lakh 50 % and for rest, no scholarship
Campus Life
There are 2 festival here. One is cultural festival i.e. HILLFAIR - annual cultural fest conducted in odd semester. Other is NIMBUS - Technical fest conducted in Even Semester. There are more than 2000 books in library with multiple copies of each book. Student can issue a book with their library card and can return it upto 30 days. Classes in Lecture Hall are provided with Smart classroom with projector support. Sports is also intensive in NIT Hamirpur. Interyear and Inter Branch matches are conducted every year. College provide sports facilities like Cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, kabaddi, table tennis, lawn tennis and basketball. There are many clubs and socities in the campus aiming for more student interactions and skills development.
Hostel Facilities
All 1st year boys are provided same hostel which is Kailash Boys Hostel (KBH) Hostel is divided into 5 blocks i.e. A,B,C,D and E. A to D block are 3 seater and E block accomodates 4 hosteller per room. There is single mess and its menu is decided by students after the creation of Hostel Student Staff. If one has to buy PG, they are easily available in range of 4-7 Km form the campus.
Admission
I have taken admission in Bacholers of Technology in National Institue of Technology, Hamirpur- an institute of national importance. To take admission here one has to clear JEE Mains with a certain percentile/rank to get admission here. Other than clearing JEE Mains with flying colour you should get a seat reserved in either JOSAA or CSAB. Application forms can be found on college site that is nith.ac.in . Other application form are provided by JOSAA itself. Reservation are provided on basis of cast, pwd, and state reservation. You have to show required documents. Exams here are easy if one study well and 2 exams are conduted in a semester.
