you should pursue engineering in general only if you are sure about it without any external influence.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Why I Opted For This Course Was A Totally Different Scenario, I Was A Kid From A Village With No One To Guide. I Happen To Come Across An Alumuni Of This College Who Had Positive Reviews, Could Not Clear Jee, So Went With This Option. i dont need the 100 rupee from this review if the owner is reading this, i just want them to keep review publically accessible so that people dont repeat mistakes like me

Placement Experience

3

avg placement of 3.5 lakh offereed on campus to student applying for placement . highest package offered 6lakh/annum around 20 companies visited in m term. most of them were for programing profile. improve your programming skills

Fees and Financial Aid

if your familiy income is below 8 lakhs then you can appply for scholarship under NSP scholrsip portal who cover all your tution and hostel fees. no need to worry much about fee. moreover this is govt college so its the best deal ou could get in term of finance. there is no campus employement opportunity available in general.

Campus Life

2

let me be honest with you i have interned at in old IIT and guess what the student life there is somewhat similar. they just have few events hosted every now and then for the students to relax for the extra mental fatigue there. we dont have have many events here, we do host one fest annually and few sports competition are held inter university. library is good as one can get course books there, it not 24x7. opens fom 9-5 clubs are not that active and thats the same in all engineering colleges.

Hostel Facilities

4

hostel are amazing here. you get single accomodation after 4th sem. the food is among the best in area, hostel wise. hostel is not aviable to all. only toppers among the applicants get the service. you can apply to Dean office for genuine reasons.

Admission

Prior to covid 19 there used to be an entrance exam JKCET to select students for admission. As per my last info from 2023, they started shortlisting students based on their performance in class 12th exams. jkcet negative mark 1/3, for 180 question. cutoff fir gcet was around 50 for my batch. it used to be a prestigious college in the early days, but now the market is quite competitive and I think if you are someone looking to get into the tech field seriously you can think about a drop year or a bit of student loan to pursue your passion at better colleges. if you are someone looking for govt job after engineering and want to pursue it in a low budget then you can go for it. It's the 3rd best college for engineering in Jammu after IIT, smvdu.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
