Likes
- The first thing is that there is a free wifi portal for all the registered students of Assam University so that the data limit cannot hamper
- Secondly the huge library provides number of variations of books so that students can go through whichever they want.
- Thirdly there is a free(said) bus service available for the students from various parts of Barak valley.
Dislikes
- Sometimes there is more domination of the seniors ( may vary from batch to batch).
- Student welfare Dean should be active regarding the issues of the students and that should be neutral without partiality.
- Teachers and fraternity should be more aware if there is any problem a fresher is facing due to seniors.
Course Curriculum Overview
I am interested in programming and cyber security so to maintain this niche this stream is much beneficial. The curriculum is present a bit I repeat, a little bit different from the real world as the is a little lack of applied feild hope soon it will be renewed. This is a applied feild so I think there should be more practical knowledge than the theoretical ones and the things that we learn on later sessions should preponed earlier so that more material we can gather and apply.
Placement Experience
From BTech students the koiyo sit in the campus placement are mostly offered to 7th semester or final year students. Many companies like Tech Mahindra , Wipro etc. visited the tech sectors with 5+ open offerings. In technology sector there are 60% of students getting placements. I have some plans rather than campus placements , i planned to sit in the GATE entrance examination and to do my PG.
Fees and Financial Aid
At the first time addmission the fees nearly touches to Rs. 60k and then we need to pay amount of Rs. 50k annually also there is an exam enrollment fee also before the semester exams and all total in a year including the annual fees and enrollment fees there will be a sum of Rs. 55k per year for 4 years. There is campus placement opportunities every year for the final year students but it depends on how they perform in the interview and followed by their chances of selection. Scholarship is also there for the Bpl students by the University.
Campus Life
In Assam University the two festivals Saraswati Puja and Bihu are greatly observed. Apart from this the departmental fests are also the enjoyable ones. We have a huge library named Rabindra Granthagar with lacs of books and also there are many ebooks also to read providing pc. Aparently all clasrooms have digital smart class facility and the sitting accommodation are also nice. There are many types of sports that are played inside the campus, we have also badminton court , football field , cricket field etc.. Also there are many clubs in the university some are tech related some are social service related depending on their niche if student choose their clubs then I don't think it will hamper the personal studies.
Admission
The admission is based on the JEE mains entrance results i.e. via JOSSA counselling and another is via University entrance test. I got into this by the University entrance test, we can apply it in the aus.ac.in portal and the fees is nearly Rs. 60000. I think after COVID the session is a bit delayed but the university is trying to recover the delay and soon it will come on track. I think the things which can be improved in the addmission process is that the whole admission should be entrance based rather than the university entrance test.
