My experience at thapar University.

I never thought of getting into this branch but one of my friends was into the same branch and he told me about the perks of the opportunities into that branch , i got ECE at the third round of counseling, and i applied for SPOT round and fortunately I was getting either COE(COMPUTER ENGINEERING) OR (COMPUTER SCIENCE WITH BUISNESS SYSTEM) I was confused and then my friend suggested to take that branch since I was getting all the opportunities same as COE with less competition as COE has 900 seats and COBS/ CSBS has 81 seats provided with Buisness studies facilities. The subjects are one of the best thing about this course, they don't let us study unnecessary subjects that are not important to us like (manufacturing engineering, engineering drawing) they focus on core important subjects from the beginning ( stats, physics, DSA etc). The whole curriculum is different if this branch but some subjects are same as required. The teachers are good too

Alot of them are there, some of the societies even provide them, paid unpaid and more. I am a first year and could not get into alot of societies because I came late but I have seen second years to do their best and get internships and prizes.

If you wanna get placed you should have knowledge, that means study hard that's all you need through out these four years. Placements are good as I told earlier but sometimes if you don't get interview you can always apply for off campus placement since it's it's a good college. Highest -50 LPA, Average -11-12LPA, LOWEST - 5-6LPA. This year it was 60-70% placed from computer branches but 100% placed from mechanical and civil. My plans are to first study well do some projects and honestly I just want to go with the flow just working hard for my future

Fees is one of the factors you might have second thoughts about, because it's quite high it will cost around 25 lakhs for four years including hostels. But scholarships are available from the 2nd year related to your CGPA. Otherwise there is always the option of education loan. But here you have to study hard to get marks because its difficult to get good CG. I don't really remember the names of scholarships they are available on website, you can cheak. As we all know last year there was a huge placement drop in every college so obviously here too, but stats from previous years were quite good. Avg was 12-13 lakhs and highest is 50 lakhs.

Campus Life is best here, you have everything here, there is student offer everywhere inside the campus, market area, beautiful infrastructure it's best during autumn and raining. Library is one of the biggest library of India the nalanda library. There are unlimited number of fests happening through out the semester, and vast number of societies and clubs in which you can join by interview developing your skills regarding coding and other activities, mental health related societies are also there for therapy all free of cost, and at the end of the year one of the biggest fest saturnalia happens in which a celebrity comes. Sports fests are there, sport area is also there, it's so big having all kindof sports, and there are tons of extracurricular activities trust me you'll see once you come. Sometimes you don't get the time to study for them like in schools.

Hostel facilities are okay, providing AC, NON AC, SINGLE/DOUBLE/TRIPLE SEATER of rooms with good food actually all available on website. They have a good menu and provide special dinner/ Lunch during festivals. Registration is provided on website itself after you completely get admission on the college they will provide everything on the website itself about hostel details and you will get mail too, so make sure to cheak mail regularly. The only problem students face is in time is too early i.e. 8.30 pm to the hostel and 8pm inside campus that's why I would give 7 rating. Rest everything is good.

Well, i got this branch during the spot round, i never thought I would take CS with Buisness system, but when I am into this, this branch provides great opportunity for you and let's you learn about with business having all the facilities of CSE with same placements opportunities as CSE BRANCH. Application forms are available on the website on the college website. The cutoff was quite high tho but it's better to fill the form during the first and second round of counseling the cutoffs are usually low at the first counselings. There are reservations too for the SC,ST,OBC classes, and punjab quota too. I think difficulty level is okay, because we are grown ups, and they provide quite comfortable rooms for the exams. I would suggest them to provide their forms alag se on a link and application fee sometimes gets stuck too, and sometimes you won't get refund if you paid twice, I faced the same thing.
