Likes

Infrastructure of thapar University is top notch and probably best in the countery
Campus Life is very exciting with many events taking place every other week
Gender ratio is also pretty decent and better than many colleges in the country.

Dislikes

Tuition fees is very expensive and takes on our pockets
Curriculum is outdated and need to be revised for the betterment of students

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is outdated ,modern day skills are not been taught in the classroom. I think modern and real life should be taught in the classes to prepare students for the real world . There are mainly two examination per semester mst and est with sessionalsfor every subject.

Placement Experience

Campus placement in thapar is one of the best in private engineering college in India. Over 200 companies visited campus last year and over 1700 offers were made . Highest package offered was 63 lakhs with 10 lakhs being the average package. Over 90%of students sitting for placement got placed. I would also like to sit for placement after my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fees is pretty expensive, it is about 6,50,000 yearly including hostel and mess fees. Scholarship are awarded based on jee main cores nad cgpa from 2 year . The tuition fees has drastically increased in the past few years due to development of new blocks in the campus ,which are made with world class infrastructure.

Campus Life

Many festivals are conducted every semester. Saturnalia is the college annual fest which is conducted every year in the month of November. Urja the sports fest and edc are also conducted. Collection of book in the Library is huge and also every kind can be found in it Technology has been adopted in the curriculum and has become important part of our college system.

Admission

A student need to take JEE mains examination to be eligible. Application form can be found on the college website and the form fees was about 1200rs. I think the admission process was smooth and I was satisfied by it

MY HONEST REVIEW ABOUT MY COLLEGE LIFE

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students become eligible for the placements and they should not have any backolgs or reappers in the exam and they should have morethan then 5 cgpa . as i am from the 2nd yeari donot know more aboutm the placement offered made but the average packagr is 3.5 to 4 lakhs per annual and around 70 to 80 percent of students are get selected in placement . and planns after getting the degree is to do higher studies in aerospace designing in the aircrafts.

Why I chose LPU ?

Placement Experience:

Here, the placement drive starts at the beginning of the 5th semester and goes till the end of the 8th semester. Here, all MNC like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini, and many other companies come to our campus for hiring. In the very last year 2 students got selected with a prestigeous 2.5cr & 1 cr packages.

Placement Experience:

From 5th semester onwards students are eligible for the campus placement. Either they get internship or they get placement offers . Number of companies visited are more than 50. I will give some examples of some best companies like google , microsoft, accenture, virtusa, lenovo , Paypal, shadii. Com , JP morgan and many more other good companies visit to our college. Highest package last year was 52 lakh and the average package was 6 lakhs . More than 70 percent Student are getting placement. My plans after the degree is to get a good job in a good company

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum should be rated on how useful and complete it is. A good one covers all important topics like Software , Networking , Automata , SQLetc. it is mix theory and practical work . For CSE studendent there are coding laguage like C++ in 3rd sem and DSA in 4th semester.

Honest is the best Policy

I was getting addmission in some other private colleges but this was near to me and had a great rew.. Its infra and hostels are really worth it. i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More
