Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The field of Electrical engineering provides a large variety of opportunity in public and private sector as well. In the rapid developing global world this field finds a safe and reliable job opportunity to the youth. The curriculum is designed in a very productibe way as it is divided into course outcomes which emphasize over the practical knowledge development about the topics and curriculum. Course curriculum could be made more effective by providing projects and inspiring students for practical implementation of the course outcomes. The college examinations are up to mark as they are divided into mid semester exams, end semester exams and internal assesment with proper gaps to help student cover the outcomes with best efficiency. Exams difficulty level is up to mark to test student's intelligence and knowledge gained in the course.

Internships Opportunities

5

Companies like ONGC provides students with internship opportunity and a monthly stippened of 12000 rs. Projects are based on the real life experiences and trains to build real life skills out of the general experience gained through course. ONGC projects includes maintenance and optimum development of power system at their refineries.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester. The number of companies visited is more than 100 and placed high number of students. Companies include IOCL, ONGC, GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, TATA MOTORS, MARUTI SUZUKI, L&T, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL etc. Highest package was 42 lakhs per annum as per the previous year, and the average package was about 12 lakh. Around 80% of students got placed during on-campus placements. I will definitely appear for the on-campus placements offers.

Fees and Financial Aid

No there is no tuition fee increase policy. The fee structure is designed for the 4 years together and is approved during the time of admission itself. Total cost inclusive of all essential expenses sums up to rupees 130000/- There are many available scholarships for the students including Category fee waiver, National Scholarship Portal, ONGC etc. All of the above scholarships provides an average financial aid of 40000 rs. I have taken part in College Skit Management group, SoapBox, Dance management Team, Rang-E-Chinar tech team and volunteered on environment day, gandhi jayanti, independence day etc.

Campus Life

4.5

There are tach fests like TECHVAGANGA, EXTRAVAGANZA, Rang-E-Chinar, ROBONOX. Library is best sufficient in terms of availability of books and variety of books by different authors inclusive of all branch courses and research items. Classrooms are updated with Smart boards, AC and best furniture of students seating arrangements. Campus provides a wide range of sports facility including football, basketball, cricket, tennis, badminton, volleyball etc. Along with proper availability of sporting utilities. College also provides chances to participate in various Inter NIT-IIT sports competition. Students run vatious clubs including SOAPBOX, PAPERCLIP, SARGAM, SEMICOLON, ART AND CULTURE, STARGAZING, GYMKHANA, RHETORICA etc. These all clubs helped many students to bring out their inner talent and showcase it on a stage providing opportunities to explore and develop better skills in them.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostels rooms are quite good in sense of facilities and the environment provided. Each room accomodates 5 people. But this could be made more better by accomodating only 4 people. Proper light connectivity, timely cleanliness, fans, beds, study tables, internet facilities are provided. Mess menu is fine but could be made more better in terms of taste and variety. Hostel registrations were easy and quite affordable under cheap prices of 8000 per semester and mess fee of 25000 per semester. The hostel is quite near the classrooms and is inside the campus itself.

Admission

I got admission through passing the JEE Exam and through JOSAA counselling All the details regarding fee submission, physical verification, application dates, form dates and other important itenary were all available on the official Brochure provided on the JOSAA portal. I got the benefit of OBC NCL class as there was a reservation quota for the same and using which I secured my favourite brach in a reputed college. The JEE exam was conducted twice a year with a suitable gap between the two sessions and the difficulty level was quite good to filter out some of the best minds in the country. One thing about the admission process is that the fee structure and initial installments are hectic as very high amount is asked to submit in very less time hence they could reduce the initial deposition amount.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
