Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is also quite good, it helps you get good knowledge about how computers work and you will learn many programming languages during the entire duration of the degree. C language is taught in the first semester which helps you build a base for pgogramming and in the subsquent semesters you we get to learn c++, java , python and many other subjects. It also prepares you well for the real world applications also you get to learn oops, data structures and algorithms, operating systems , communication networks which is required for job interviews and teachers are also ver nice and helpful. They will help with anything related to the subject. The exams are conducted 3 times in one semester Minor 1, Minor 2 and major exam which is of 50 marks and difficulity level depends on the teacher but it is mostly medium to difficult. Labs exam is conducted seperately 1 time during the majors.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee for B.tech for 1 year (2 semester) is around 1,20,000 and hostel and mess fee is around 40,000-50,000. So the complete cost for 4 year degree including everything such as hostel, mess and tuition fee is around 7-8 lakhs. There are many scholarships provided by the university. Every semsester the 5-6 toppers of the class are given semester wise scholarship , and at the time of admission students with the jee rank of upto 30,000 AIR in jee mains get full tuition fee waiver for first 5 semesters . From AIR 30,000 to 50,000 full tuition fee waiver is provided for first 4 semesters and students from AIR 50,000 to 1,00,000 get a full tuition fee waiver for first 3 semesters but the student has to maintain a CGPA of 7.5 in every semester. There aren't many campus opportunities available pn the campus.

Campus Life

3.5

The campus life is quite good here. The infrastructure of the university is good and campus is surrounded by nature . You can see the Holy shrine of Shri mata vaishno devi from the campus. There are many clubs available in the campus to join like music club, dance club, arts club, astronomy club, photography club and time to time some things get conducted in the clubs plus the sports facilities provided are also quite nice like there is a sports ground available , a basketball court and badminton court in the university and also every hostel also has its own badminton or table tennis court available for students. Every classroom has a projector and classes are clean. The library is also very nice , there are many books available for every course. Library has every book which would be required during the whole 4 years and you can rent books easily with your library card .Two fests are also conducted 1. Resurgence around the month of april and 2. Titiksha (tech fest ) is also organised.

Admission

I am doing Engineering in computer science and the eligibility for that was jee mains and cuet scores , the cut-off for jee mains generally goes around 87-90 percentile for computer science. The application form can be found in the smvdu's website and fees is 1500 rupees, application form dates are also provided in the universitie's website. Reservation is provided by the university at the time of admission and you have to fill your category in the application form and reservation is provided accordingly. The admission process is not that difficult you just have to wait for your name on the list and if you get selected you can easily take admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
