The weather conditions here in katra,jammu are good for studying as its not so cold and not to warm.

Dislikes

Local population here in the university is lower than the people coming from outside the state which creates groups.

Course Curriculum Overview

I personally chose electronics and communication and teachers and their teaching methods are excellent. Experiments related to our topics are also held to give us some knowledge about the real world applications. There's actually no particular area in which improvement is needed except teachers should focus more on the practical knowledge rather than focusing more on theorotical knowledge. Exams happen thrice a semester, Two minor exams of 20 marks each and one major which is of 50 marks .

Class Size: 68Course Fees: INR 169000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I am doing bachelor's in technology in electronic and communication but fee structure is same for all btech courses that is 1.69 laks per yr.But if u want a hostel and mess facility u have to give more 42000-43000 (approx.)

Campus Life

I have been studying in the university for about a year now and it has been a very pleasant experience as weather conditions are good for studying and regular sports and cultural events also occur which helps an individual to stay entertained.

Admission

You can either come through jee or cuet. I personally applied through cuet. I got 450 marks(in physics,maths, English) outta 600 and got ece. But i applied for the university in its second phase if u apply on the first you may even get cse in these marks. The review

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

My point of view on NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester we become eligible for placements and sit for on campus interviews . In mechanical ONGC , IOCL ,JSW , physics wallah , vedanta and for cse and IT there are companies like paypal , microsoft (internship) , increff etc come for on campus placement.

A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google microsoft facebook vedanta have visited and offered an average package of around 10 lpa. Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students.
