What Students Say
Likes
- The thing I am most fond of is the calm and soothing nature around the campus as well as the mesmerizing view of Vaishno Devi.
- There's sufficient equipment with regard to labs as well as the option to play any sport you like is also nice.
- Most of the teachers are actually really helpful.
Dislikes
- There is a lot of mismanagement in certain areas.
- The quality of mess food becomes intolerable.
- The infrastructure in certain classes can be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exams are divided into 3 parts: Minor-1, Minor-2 and Major. During Minors, multiple exams are conducted the same day, while in Majors they are usually conducted on consecutive days without holidays but there is only one exam per day.
Internships Opportunities
As of now, I haven't had the chance to experience the internship oppurtunities myself but according to what we were told in the introductory sessions, and as have been confirmed by some seniors, the placement faculty is nice and helping. They go out of their way for several off-campus placements as well.
Placement Experience
The highest package bagged by a student was of 23 LPA and the percentage of students getting placed is also good at about 75 percent. Many companies come to visit the college for placements. These companies include Infosys, Tata, Jio, TCS, HCl, Maruti Suzuki, Adani Group, Axis Bank are a few names among many.
Fees and Financial Aid
The complete cost of my tution fees for 4 years is 6 LPA. There are many different types of scholarships available. Some are based on your JEE rank while some are based on the marks obtained in the first semester.
Campus Life
2. There are plenty of books available in the library for reference. There is also a digital library for refernce. 3. Their infrastructure is okay, but can be improved alot. 4. There are alot of options for sports, but you need to go ahead and interact with seniors for the same.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms of Shivalik-B are really good but the washrooms are not very well maintained. The mess food is only eatable at the start and with time the food quality only deteriorates. The registration process for hostel was not easy for me.
Admission
1. Eligibility Criteria included getting atleast 60% marks in 12th with Maths and Physics as compulsory. 2. The application form and all the information regarding the admission process is easily available on the college website: https://smvdu.ac.in 3. I belong to general category therefore there were no reservation benefits for me. 4. I got admission through CUET exam. It is conducted once a year and there is no cut off based on marks with respect to CUET. A couple of days after the CUET result is declared, the college will release a list on its website consisting of the list of candidates selected. Multiple lists are released. 5. As far as admission process is concerned, everything went smoothly for me. However, the only issue with me was hostel allotment which was a little late as well as unorganised.
