Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

the curriculum is revided every 4 years and thats why it is very aligned with the industrial needs and trends. The board whihc decided syllabus also have memebers whihc are professionals in industry. The curriculum very well prepares students and hence that helps to get interships and placemetns both in and off campus. The lectures are 9 to 5 which is little bit tidious for students as it have only 1 hr break for lunch. Also very frequently lectures get cancelled. So for localites it is frustrating. I would like to college to work on these two things. There are total 3 exmas, 2 Unit tests 1(T1, T2 20 marks each) and end sem of 60 marks. Approx 30 days gap is there between every exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

College give very good internships in IT fields. Till now around 80 students of CS branch got internships and the stipend starts fom 30000 per month to 150000 per month. Internships are of 2 months. All comanies have internships in month of may to july but semes have 1 year long internship which is from 6th sem to 7th sem. DE shaw gives highest stipend that is 1.5 lakh per month and the there is arcesium which give 1.25lakh.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement and internships are very good in this collegeand a student can apply to internsips from 3rd year and for placemnts from 4th year. Companies visits college and take aptitude tests and intevies for the same. Yes there are some companies whihc came and gave 0 offers like BNY melon. Highest package is given by DE shaw and it is around 35 lakh and average placement is of 12 lakh. In CS brach 98 percent studetnts get placed. I am looking forward to grab a good job in IT and work on my skills. There are mostly IT companies which have differnent job profiles including core, Developement, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are descent as it is government college but in previous yera i baceme university and hence the fees are increased. Current First year students have fees arounf 1.25 lakh(open). This include exam fee, developmentt fees and many more. Also students can avail many scholorships whihc are provided by mahadbt. Also college brings some NGOs which help students who have poor background. Alumni accosiation is always there to help the studetns. In COEP no one go to coaching . Only college fees and mess fees and hostel fees are the expenses. Hostel fees are around 50k and mess bill of per month isarounf 3k to 3.5k. Around 50 percent studetns get intenship in CS branch and around 97 percent students get placement. Placement cell is very good as compared to other colleges.

Campus Life

4.5

There are total 5 fests which are conducted in college. Zest is the sport festival which is conducted around month of jan, other is Mindspark which is a annual technical fest whihc is conducted in september, Impressions is the festival which is for artists of every kind and it is held in december. Pune Startup Fest is for entrepeuners as name suggests and it is also held in hanuary. There is very big liabrary just beside the main building and we can get any book which may be academic or non academic, novels etc. Every room have projectors and Smart TV. There are total 52 clubs in college hence there is much scope in extra curricular activities. Yes student can be part of many clubs and also handle academics. I was also head in Zest.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel life is very good here. for boys every year's students have seperate building and for girls there is only one building of 14 floors. Every room have 4 bends and are alloted according to merit list. In FY they are alloted according to percentile and after that on the basis of CGPA. Every year hostel allotment process takes place. There are bathrooms and toilets on each floor. Meal qualty is very good. Everyday menu is differnet and on suday there is feast. Chicken is given for non vegies and for vegies there is paneer. Sunday night mess is close. Anyone can take membership of hostel club. You dont need to be hostellite for that.

Admission

for the admission in COEP i gave MHT- CET exam. In CET i got 9..35 percentile but i was benefited by Def- obc quota and got admission on this percentile. For open students the cut off is around 99.78 and for obc it is 99.6 (talking about CS branch). For other branches like electrical and ExTC also the cut off is high around 97 to 98 percentile. There is no criteria for 10 th and 12 percentage but for a tie braker in percentiles the percentages and marks of maths, science, english are considered. I applied via government process CAP rounds and i was lucky to get admission in 1st round itself. by gernerally there are 2 cap rounds and 2 to 3 on spot rounds. i was benefited by def-obc quota so for that caste certificate, caste validity and proforma-c (can be taken from sainik board) were required. The exam is of 3 hr in which 1.5hr is for maths which have 100 marks and rest is Physics+chemistry which combined have 100 marks. There no such areas for imrovement in admission process.

In Kit college their are some rules for placement drive. In 7th sem companies started to visit our college. During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
