The campus of smvdu is so gud and peaceful likewise u can see Trikuta hill from ur hostel and campus
Friendly environment over there likewise meet each other every day
People things that smvdu is in jammu and kashmir its not safe but it is properly safe environment

Dislikes

There is so many restrictions in campus like u have to do ur 75 percent if ur sick then its not there fault
After 8pm u cant go outside to meet friends in other hostel
Faculty of smvdu specially in civil department doesnot have such experience and knowledge

Course Curriculum Overview

As i am a civil engineering student in civil department there i very less faculty and they are not resourceful and have only done mtech degree and these behaving like student they are on contract which is not good because it is cfti

Class Size: 53Course Fees: INR 200000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of one sem is 66000 and annually fee is 17000 and the hostel fee is like 22000 nad mess fee is 20000 and the job opportunity is so bad there is bey less company in placement session and it not gud for student who are studing over there

The campus of smvdu is so beautiful and so peaceful but there is lack of infrastructure like i am a civil engineer student over there we dont have our department our teacher sit in architecture department and we have to attent class in cse department

Hostel Facilities

There are many hostels over year according to your year you will alloted a new hostel like wise bosholi hostel is gud in infrastructure but nigiri and vidhanchal in not god and less hygiene and the mess is so un hygiene

Hostel Fee: INR 22000 per year

Admission

Admission will be through jossa based on rank obtained and also you can take admission through based on rank obtained in smvduee which is a entrance exam for the entrance in engineering I don't like the process of smvduee exam because it is giving admission in low rank as compared to jossa

The review

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

From the starting of 4th year ,we are eligible to sit in the placement and the ratio is almost 65-70 percent percentage head and for it and cse - increff, microsoft ,make my trip ,paypal ,and visa and for civil - L&T and many sales company

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester we become eligible for placements and sit for on campus interviews . In mechanical ONGC , IOCL ,JSW , physics wallah , vedanta and for cse and IT there are companies like paypal , microsoft (internship) , increff etc come for on campus placement.

A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google microsoft facebook vedanta have visited and offered an average package of around 10 lpa. Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students.
