college review of IIT KGP.

-- IIT KGP's agricullture department is vast and spread across around 300 acres . Also , The director of IIT KGP is from agriculture department . So, I think , It is the best course for agriculture engineering in whole country (india). -- The curriculum is absolutely perfect. Our department has all the modern world machinery to perform different processes . Here , we have seperate aquaculture area and agriculture area. we have grown different crops like tea for learning process. -- I think , it is one of the most beautiful department in IIT KGP and it is perfect in its own way. -- every 1.5 months (approximately) , we have exams ( mid sem and end sem). In between , we have some class tests.

since , I am first year undergrad student here at IIT KGP, i have not done any internship till now. However , In future , when i get internship, i will definitely let you know about this. that's all from my side .

--students become eligible for placements after 7th semester. -- various companies visit our college including software companies , core job related companies, finance job companies ex . google , microsoft , vipro, amazon, flipkart, nestle . some companies are open to all i.e student of any department can give their selection rounds. -- The highest package as of 2023 stands at 2.68 cr per annum ( international )and average package ranges from 18 to 23 lpa. -- the percentage of students getting placed is around 70 percent. --Talking about me , I wanted to be a software developer , so i want to work in IT industries.

-- Each semester has Tuitipn fees 1 lakh rupees which is not affordable for many students according to me. -- financially weak students can avail scholarship like MCM(merit - cum -means). From this , student can a get a scholarship of 35000 rs each semester if he has a CGPA greater than 7.5 in that semester. -- category students also get some financial assistance from college. students belonging to SC / ST category have 0(zero) tution fees. Also, Students whose annual family income is less than 1 lakh rs also do not require any tution fees. Students with GEN-EWS category have tution fees of 1/3 rd of 1 lakh rs each semester. However , students dont get any relieve on hostel and mess charges.

-- The cultural fest of IIT KGP is names as "SPRING FEST" while name of Tech fest is "KSHITIJ". These fests are generally held in month of january. "SHAURYA" is the sports fest of IIT KGP . It is held in month of October - November. -- There is wide range of books. You can find books related to history ,geography or any other General knowledge book along with books of Engineering . The library of IIT KGP is very large and huge. It is one of the largest libraries in Asia. -- classroom have Air Conditioning facilties(mostly). desktop and screens are there in each classrooms. -- Many sports and cultural Competitions are held . Students take part in GC (General chamipionship) which is a inter-hall competitions ( in month of Jan , feb , march)for almost any sports,ex football ,cricket , athletics , swimming squash , badminton etc. -- There are many societies and cells .students can join them by clearing GD(group Discussion) and PI (personal interview rounds ). Students learn various skill

-- Sufficient facilities are provided in Hostel. some hostels have attached bathrooms and some have common bathrooms. Geyser facilities are available. once ,every week , sweepers and bathroom cleaner to clean rooms and bathrooms. Cycle repairing shops are there in the hall itself . -- Meals are good and affordable(i.e mess charges are not expensive). We get food four times in a day ( morning, afternoon , evening , night). -- registration process for halls and mess are done on the day you visit the campus after you are alloted this college.

-- The eligibilty to apply for the course is that student should qualify jee advance exam conducted by IIT's. -- seats are availed through JOSAA councelling . To apply for the JOSAA councelling , you need to pay 40000 rs to JOSAA board. The documents required are JEE main admit card, 10th and 12th mark sheets , caste certificate (if any). -- The worst part of this process of admission is it takes lot times ( weeks ) , and we are suppposed to be active for weeks for this admission process.
