Likes

Hostel life . I lived in their for 3 years and after that i need to leave it for my final year internship
Sports activities, i m good in sports so i liked that.
I liked my teaching staff as they are always available for us.

Dislikes

Hostel fights are the main things that i hated.
They don't allow for other universities event.like there was an event in IIT but they refused to co operate .

Course Curriculum Overview

I was referred through my friend. He told me about the staff and faculty a little. So i thought to give it a try . After i joined i found them really understandable and helpful . Some teachers may harsh .

Internships Opportunities

There are some companies for placement like L&T ( LARSEN & TURBO) and second a local jammu based company SRM . Only few will get the job the rest have to find their own internships. I personally found this bad.

Fees and Financial Aid

During my engineering i didn't find any increment in my fee. The complete cost of btech civil is around 8.5 lakhs including hostels. There is a scholarship for top 3 students who got max marks in their semester will get their fee refund.

Campus Life

Campus life is very good. It all depends upon you how do you want to enjoy. There are so many club activities and sports events but it's all up to you wheather you will join or not . But overall the campus life is great .

Admission

Actually i joined through leet (lateral entry) . There was an entrance exam for admission in which around 20-30 were appearing from which only 6 were selected. I did my diploma in civil and after that got admission in 2nd year btech in smvdu.

The review

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

From the starting of 4th year ,we are eligible to sit in the placement and the ratio is almost 65-70 percent percentage head and for it and cse - increff, microsoft ,make my trip ,paypal ,and visa and for civil - L&T and many sales company

My point of view on NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

In 7th semester we become eligible for placements and sit for on campus interviews . In mechanical ONGC , IOCL ,JSW , physics wallah , vedanta and for cse and IT there are companies like paypal , microsoft (internship) , increff etc come for on campus placement.

A student's perspective

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like google microsoft facebook vedanta have visited and offered an average package of around 10 lpa. Highest package is of 45 lpa and lowest of 8 lpa. There is 100% placements of students from core branches. After i get my degree i want to work in a tech company and learn about technology.

The life of student at NIT Srinagar

Placement Experience:

The college placemts is good the average is areound 10lakh per annum , the comapnies that visit for placements and internships are VISA , MICROSOFT, PAYPAL, GOLDMANSACCHS, NVIDIA, CISCO, WIPRO , L&T , PHYSICS WALLAH, INCREFF , other startups etc. My plan is to crack on-campus placement from a good company.

NIT Srinagar - A Beautiful place but Underwhelming Experience

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students. I don't get any rejection from any other colleges....Read More
