Course Curriculum Overview
The courses provided by Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology are quite relevant for example they have started new branches AI and Robotics and Electronics engineering (VLSI) which are relevant in today's world. In my course that is Computer Science Engineering we are taught DSA , OOPs , and different programming languages which are really important to learn if you are focusing on getting placements. In third year itself the company comes for inters which gives students the taste of real world and what the corporate sector demants or even the companies of core branches demand. They really help in shaping one's personality and help them build more capabilities. I have always likes Computer Science and coding as I had started my coding journey in class 8th itself and found it really fun so I guess for me this course is a boon.
Internships Opportunities
Our College provides Internship opportunities from 3rd year onwards. There are many companies that come for taking students for Summer Internship and its duration can vary depending on the company. At max it can be of 2 months. For preparation of internships you need to build skills based on your branch. You should build projects on your own . Since the competition is quite high , one should always try to stand out of the crowd so that they can be selected. Through internships you gain a lot of knowledge and can even get permanent placement in that company.
Placement Experience
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology provides on campus placement opportunities as well as internship opportunities from the fourth year and third year respectively. The main companies include Accenture, Amazon, Flipkart, JP Morgan and many more. If you do not want to opt for placement then you can go for higher studies as well like mtech or any other. My plan is basically to take placement and get settled. But every person has their own choice and can go for mba, mtech or any government examinations.Tge average package is around 10 lakhs and there are many students who receive package above 15 lakhs and 20 lakhs. You can even start your internship before 3rd year but college does not play role in this.
Fees and Financial Aid
I guess the fees of my college specially for Computer Science is approximately 2.5 lakhs per semester, this is just the tuition fees including some other fees and complete btech costs around 25 lakhs including hostel and mess fees. For more details on fee structure one can always visit Thapar University's official website. There you will get a structured detail. Now coming to scholarships, Thapar does provide different scholarships namely Merit based scholarship and merit-cum-means scholarship. Within merid scholarship there are 3 categories and around 300 students are eligible for this scholarship. This is basically on the basis of CGPA. The pther scholarship is based on your family income. There is some kind of scholarship provided to students who have alumni in their relation I am not sure about it. For fees you can always opt for education loan and the college itself encourages you to take that. In the fourth year the companies come for placements and many students gets placed.

Admission
Th admission process is quite simple. It is based on JEE mains percetile and class 12th boards examination. The cut off list comes out and approximately there are 6-7 rounds and further there is a spot round in which the cutoff for each is branch is comparatively lower than others. Like in my case the cutoff for COE was around 96% in pcm and and for CSE it wss around 98%(outside punjab). There is reservation for Punjab students and Sc/ST caste. I belong to outside punjab categary so I couldn't enjoy the benefits of less cutoff. The admission process is quite simple but In case you miss the last date for fees submission you have to wait for the next round and it's not sure whether the cutoff will be high or low for that particular round. After being alloted you are called to the college for in- person councelling.
