Subhajit Chakraborty's Review On Netaji Subhash Engineering College - [NSEC], Kolkata

The Placement Cell is not that much activity that is one of the major drawbacks of this college. The central library is good but not the best. Good books are pretty limited which causes problems when the semester starts.

Actually, I have given my JELET exam at this college. So after the exam, I interacted with some seniors from this college. They suggested this college for a better future & placement opportunities. Also from various websites, I have seen a lot of positive feedback about this college. then I took the decision of getting admitted into this college.

In WBUT the assessment of the curriculum is quite simple. What is important is to follow the classes regularly. Most of the syllabus gets completed in college before the semester exam. From the Organizer, we get the idea of the question pattern of previous years. That makes easier to complete the curriculum after getting the Unofficial suggestions from the organizer.

No in our stream the college don"t provide the opportunity of Internship. But in CSE, IT the opportunities of Internship are there.

Technical Fest is celebrated in our college are known as AVENIR. The students mainly organize this program. Freshers are also there. In every year when new batches join in college seniors organizes this program. Teachers Day are also celebrated in our college and that too organized by seniors. A lot of Tollywood star comes in this occasion.

The Fees structure in this college is pretty much feasible. In 4 years approx 4 lakh rs is required. Whereas for lateral students almost 3 lakh rs is required for admission which is pretty much affordable for the students and the facility they give is worth to it.

Our college doesn't"t provide any scholarship but student loan facility is available here. If the annual income is less than 2,50,000 rs a student can get admitted in TFW Quota as well where the student can avail all his tuition fees for free of cost. And that"s too for four years of span.

I generally use to go to college from Home as my hometown is situated in Kolkata. But the biggest drawback of this college is it has no Hostel. But so many Messes are around there in front of the college. That"s why students don"t feel much difficulty. But according to which I have heard from friends & seniors is that the food of mess is not up to the mark.

The alumni network in our college is not much strong and active through senior students are pretty helpful. Whenever we faced any problem we used to ran straight away to them and they tried to help as much as they can. Though now we are the senior most batch in our college.

There are two semesters held every year as per WBUT rules. Exams are held one in June and one in December. The full marks are 100. Out of which 30 comes from internal marks where college takes the exam and send the marks to the Board and rest of 70 marks 10 is MCQ and rest of the 60 are descriptive. WBUT sets These question papers. The time duration of these exams is given for 3 hours.

After deciding that I would like to go with this college the for what I was looking at was the result of JELET Examination. When the results were out I have seen that my overall rank as 1539 & my branch rank(Civil) as 409 odd. Then WBJEE Board announced the date of Counciling after 7 days from the date of result. I was sure in my mind that I would like to take admission on NSEC only.Then I have gone to the Counciling centre at Gitanali Stadium Kolkata & waited for my turn. And when it came I asked them to give me the form of NSEC. After taking the form I directly went to the college in the very nexy day along with the admission fees and there I had to fill up a form and this is the procedure by which I got admitted into this college.

Some faculties of our branch are good. But some are below average. But the current faculties are not that experienced that they should have. But all the faculties are Co-operative. They are always ready to help us when required. Some of them are strict about attendance & some of them are quite friendly in nature.
