Course Curriculum Overview

I would rate it 8/10 because my aspect of choosing this course obviously for getting government jobs as this course in Assam have a very large impact on government sector . This course is mainly based on real life more than imagination as when we see a building we can assume whatever related to this course. There are some areas in Assam where improvement in teaching is necessary like dhemaji, golaghat etc.

Internships Opportunities

For paid internship we have to apply off campus. I am in the 4th semester so now I will be doing academic internship and internship under infosys springboard. After my first year I have done social internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of this college is 16440 per year which is quite affordable . These includes all the charges . All kind of scholarships are available such as ishan uday amount 78000, pragati amount 50000, post metric etc.

Campus Life

There are more than 15-18 active clubs in our college and many social events such as cleanliness drive, daam uthsav take place per month. There is an annual fest named 'Pyrokinesis' which is the largest fest in the entire north east takes place every year. Also there is a technical fest 'tech axom' occurs.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facilities is quite good. They provide us with bed, table, chair, cupboard, lights, fans etc. The meal structure we have for breakfast bread, fried rice, paw bhaji, puri etc. , for lunch we have rice, dal, sabji etc, for dinner we have fish, Chicken, paneer etc. We have have to apply for hostel at the time of final admission in the college. We have a mess fees of 2500 per month.

Hostel Fee: INR 2000 per year

Admission

The admission process was same as the other government colleges. The entrance exam name 'Common Entrance exam ' which is a state exam was held to get into this college. The cut off for general is under rank 600 and the cut off for the reservation category is under rank 2000. This exam is held once in a year between May to June after 12th board exams.

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIT Guwahati are excellent especially in the tech field ,with high placement rates and strong average packages generally Rs 30 lakh per annum. Top companies regularly visit the campus. After completing the course if i do not get placed on campus which is hardly possible i'll look for other off campus placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Most of the professors are good here.The college covers the core subjects required for strong foundation in engineering. However the theoretical coverage is good the scope for practical exposure is still required.

Placement Experience:

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Placement Experience:

Students normally appear for placements in fourth year with two placement seasons namely from december to january and february to march. Companies include quant companies and tech giants like JPMC, Reliance Industries, WellsFargo,Piramal, Standard Chartered,Texas Instrumentation, walmart, Microsoft, Amazon, Deloitte,Oracle, HCL, Barclays, Tata steel, uber, legato, Mastercard, Nutanix, BPCL, BEL,PWC, Socgen, etc. Almost 80% students get placed every year with the average package ?1,60,000. The highest package was 1.68 crore per annum from the branch of Computer Science.

ASSAM UNIVERSITY SILCHAR , THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY

Placement Experience:

only fourth year students are eligible for campus placements . the detalis of the visiting compaies are not thte sure but at least 10 stuents are placed each year from every single batch. the higest so far was 20 lpa and it was in amazon , the student who cracked that placement applied it off campus . on campus placement was not more than 10 lpa so far . the percentage of students getting placemnets are less than 50% not because of quality of placement but majority stuents opt for higher studies or goverment jobs rather than direct placement . my paln is to also pursue higher education

Charmingly Challenging Champion

Placement Experience:

After the 6th sem placement season starts. The intern season takes place at the end of the 4th sem. The placement of the college is extremely good. The average package of the college is around 21 lakhs. That of CSE is 41 lakhs. Mncs is 35 lakhs etc. Projected package of my branch DSAI is 40 lakhs.
